Fancy holiday cards

Hi everyone. Hope you are having a fabulous weekend. Are you getting ready for the holidays? I'm almost ready. I think. But in the meantime, I've been playing with my Clique Kits Cards Holiday Kit. This kit is full of awesome stuff! Ah, I feel so happy sitting here with my box of pretties. I am really loving the vellum paper by Pretty Little Studios and the cute tags by Fancy Pants. The two together make one fabulous looking card. What do you think?

Photo addict

Happy Sunday friends! What's on your list to do today? I need to do laundry and run to the grocery store for a few things. But other than that, I'm going to enjoy the day with my four year old. Hopefully, he won't drive me nuts today... He hasn't gotten that Sundays are mommy's days to do NOTHING yet...

Anyway, before I go, I want to share this quick and easy layout with you. I love the design on this layout. I've used it two other times on separate layouts and love it so much. I used more products from Shimelle's collection. You can purchase yours here with a 10% discount in the Clique Store by using NICOL10 if you'd like! I love this collection so much. I think I need to buy another 6x6 paper pad because I've just about flown through my stash. Oh yes! And my "Photo addict" stamp came this week. HAHA, I'm so psyched. As soon as I saw the stamp in the store, I knew I had to have it.

What do you think. This layout is super easy. Just cut 3 squares down to 3 1/2"x3 1/2" and one photo. Place them on the cardstock and embellish! I stamped the "photo addict" image onto kraft cardstock and then cut it out using scissors. Then I used pop dots to make it pop off the page.

Supplies: Kraft paper: MME, White/Black cardstock: American Crafts: Patterned paper: Stickers: Die cuts: American Crafts, Rub ons: My Mind's Eye, "Photo addict" stamp: Kesi Art, Ink: Stazon.

November Clique Kits Blog Hop

Hi everyone. Welcome to the Pep Rally for Clique Kits! Here's a layout that I created using the November "Homecoming" kit. I love the colors in this kit and the variety of papers that came with it. I created seven gorgeous layouts with this kit! I practically used all of my scraps too. HAHA. Every now and then, I'll create a layout that I'm not sure if I love it or hate it. And this is one of them. After I finished scrapping this layout, I looked over at Edward and asked Edward what did he think. Did he like it? He looked at it and said, "boring". Jeez. LOL. So I slept on it and when I woke up and looked at it again, I decided that I didn't like it either. So I cut around my frame using scissors...

And then I matted the Gold Punchinella paper from Clique Kits "Homecoming" kit onto white cardstock. Then I put my original layout that I cut out onto the paper and this is the difference... I LOVE IT!

Cardstock: American Crafts, Vellum paper: Studio Calico, Patterned paper: Webster's Pages, Lemon Owl, Die cuts: Lemon Owl, Buttons: Studio Calico, Enamel dot: Doodlebug Design, Veneer leaf: Freckled Fawn, Glue: Helmar, November "Homecoming" kit by Clique Kits.
Here's another layout that I submitted to Paper Crafts for publication that never got picked up. They had a call out for stripes...
And if you're looking for more inspiration, just take a look at this awesome mood board! I know right?
Thanks for stopping by today. I really appreciate it. Your next stop is Stephanie. Enjoy!

Shimelle rocks!

Hello everybody. I don't have much to share today. So far, the week is going ok. HAHA. It's still early though. Anyway, I have a simple layout to share with you. Last week I received my order from the Clique Kits. I've been eyeing up Shimelle's collection for some time now. At first, I wasn't sure if I liked the collection because of the pink, but I have to say, the more I look at it, I love it! I think if you can find a way to see pass all the pink, you will like it too. I must say, I love the pop of pink on this layout even though I hate pink. This collection is perfect for story telling. What do you think? The Clique Kit Store has a few left in stock and you can get yours with a 10% discount by using NICOLE10. Happy scrapping!

Supplies: Cardstock: My Mind's Eye, Patterned paper: Stickers: Die cuts: Rubons: American Crafts, Enamel dots: Basic Grey.
And here's another layout that I created using the same collection. I love this one so much. I am so lucky to work with some great people everyday and call them great friends of mine.

Hi everyone. What have you been reading lately? I've been reading the Outlander series. And I am hooked!! I just finished the third book "Voyager". I like where the 4th book is heading! Can't wait to start.

In Outlander, a 600-page time-travel romance, strong-willed and sensual Claire Randall leads a double life with a husband in one century, and a lover in another. Torn between fidelity and desire, she struggles to understand the pure intent of her heart. But don't let the number of pages and the Scottish dialect scare you. It's one of the fastest reads you'll have in your library.
While on her second honeymoon in the British Isles, Claire touches a boulder that hurls her back in time to the forbidden Castle Leoch with the MacKenzie clan. Not understanding the forces that brought her there, she becomes ensnared in life-threatening situations with a Scots warrior named James Fraser. But it isn't all spies and drudgery that she must endure. For amid her new surroundings and the terrors she faces, she is lured into love and passion like she's never known before.
I was lame and sore in every muscle when I woke next morning. I shuffled to the privy closet, then to the wash basin. My innards felt like churned butter. It felt as though I had been beaten with a blunt object, I reflected, then thought that that was very near the truth. The blunt object in question was visible as I came back to bed, looking now relatively harmless. Its possessor [Jamie] woke as I sat next to him, and examined me with something that looked very much like male smugness."
Gabaldon creates characters that you'll remember, laugh with, cry with, and cheer for long after you've finished the book. --Candy Paape

I am going to take a break from the Outlander series and read Kim Harrison's last book in the Hollows series. Good stuff.

Rachel Morgan's come a long way from the clutzy runner of Dead Witch Walking. She's faced vampires and werewolves, banshees, witches, and soul-eating demons. She's crossed worlds, channeled gods, and accepted her place as a day-walking demon. She's lost friends and lovers and family, and an old enemy has become something much more.
But power demands responsibility, and world-changers must always pay a price. That time is now.
To save Ivy's soul and the rest of the living vampires, to keep the demonic ever after and our own world from destruction, Rachel Morgan will risk everything.

Family love

Hi everyone. I am having another lazy day with the little man today. We colored, watched Frozen and The Lego Movie and have just been having a nice day together. I've had this layout saved on my computer for months now when I thought that Bella Blvd. would be having a design team in September... But they aren't having one until the spring. I just love this layout so much. I used 4 4"x4" squares cut from patterned paper and lots of die cuts. I am loving die cuts lately. They are great for filling in naked spaces on layouts.

Supplies: Cardstock: Doodlebug Designs, Patterned paper: Die cuts: Stickers: Button: Bella Blvd., Ribbon: May Arts.

Playing with water colors.

Happy Monday everyone. Today, I have another layout to share with you using the November "Homecoming" kit from Clique Kits. This kit is so gorgeous and versatile. At first glance, I thought the kit looked rather girly, but I managed to get a boy layout out of it! One of the kit add-ons this month was water color paints. I have yet to try water colors out so I decided to challenge myself to try something new this month. The camera paper by Lemon Owl went perfectly with the water color paints!

While working with these paints, I realized that it's better to add a good amount of water to the paints because the paints really soak up the water. I found it easier to paint on my patterned paper when the paint was saturated with a good amount of water so the paint wasn't too dry.

I used a small brunch so that I could try to stay within the lines. Also, each time I switched colors, I washed the brush off with clean water and dried the brush using a paper towel.

I used my Silhouette Portrait to cut my titles and then painted them too! I wasn't sure if I wanted to use the "happy" cut or the "laugh" cut until I started working on my layout. In the end, I chose the "laugh" cut.

Aren't they pretty? Love the look that water colors add to a layout.

I free-hand cut the heart to use as a template around my collage of photos to use as a nice frame for my photos. I really think it pulls this layout together nicely.

And a close up of my little cutie. Ha, he totally cracks me up.

Drawing from a 4 1/2 year old

Hi everyone. Not much going on today on this beautiful Sunday afternoon... Just taking it easy, having a lazy day with my son. Holiday cards made easy.

I hate to say it but Christmas is literally right around the corner! I am almost done my Christmas shopping and everything that I've bought so far for Edward is hidden in suit cases in the basement! Go me! So I'm waiting on the last few gifts to arrive by mail... Oh did you think that I was waiting to go out on black Friday to do my shopping? Heck no... not me. Anyways, here's a little project to help you get your cards completed! I used the Clique Kits holiday card kit. This kit was truly a delight to work with. There's so much packed into this fabulous kit to help you those holiday cards completed early!

Every year I create my own holiday card using a favorite family photo. Once I create the card on paper, I scan it and order my prints online! Super easy and not that hard on your pocket! My favorite part of the Holiday card kit was the gorgeous "Oh, Deer" paper pad by Fancy Pants. I just love the green, teal and red in the papers. And I especially like the veneer word titles from Creative Embellishments. And if you're eyeing up that cute little flair sticker with the Christmas tree, it was made exclusively for the holiday kit by Clique Kits. I love me some flair stickers. They are a must for every crafter. I love how this card turned out. The flair sticker and veneer title really helps pull this card together.

Before I leave for today, I am challenging you to create a Christmas card using a family portrait. Have fun and lets get those cards done early! And here's my early holiday gift to you, 10% all orders from the Clique Kits store. Just enter NICOLE10 in the coupon code prior to checking out.

Let it shine.

Happy Monday everyone! I have a fun layout to share with you today. Finally, I got the chance to play with some cut files by Juliana Michaels's store, 17turtles. Fun stuff and I just love the papers in the November "Homecoming" Clique Kits. There are a few sheets by Webster's Pages. They are so very beautiful and they have some of my favorite colors in them. Can you spot my favorite color in the layout? Yes, green! And I've been loving the look of gold on layouts these days so I decided to cut my swirl from gold paper. I must get some more of this cardstock. WOW! It really shines on the layout don't you think?

It is truly amazing how much this swirl cut adds to this layout! I think I need to visit the 17turtles shop very soon!
The best gift that I ever asked for was my Silhouette Portrait. I just love it so much because it saves me a great deal of money. Whenever I need a title or background, I just go into my files and cut it. So easy. I don't even have to leave the house for more scrappy embellishments because I can make my own.

Thanks for stopping by today. Don't forget to stop by 17turtles today! Also, feel free to use my code for 10% off orders in the Clique Kits shop. Simply enter NICOLE10 in the coupon section prior to checking out. Happy shopping!

Shark week!

Yep, that's what my work family and I dressed up as for Halloween. HAHA. There's seven of us so it worked out perfectly! The only thing we forgot to do was punch holes in our shirts to make teeth marks, but we still rocked the shark hats. haha. Jen's mom made them for us!
