Playing with layers

Hello everyone. Today, I have another fun layout to share with you using the August Clique Kit. I really had fun with this kit. This was my last layout and since I was running low on products from the kit, I decided to use up my scraps for this layout. I really hate wasting paper. In fact, we recycle in this house... so I try to use as much of the kit as possible before putting throwing my scraps in the recycle bin.

I decided to scrap in layers for this one. I kept the layout pretty simple because I felt like the patterns made the layout look busy enough. I love this photo that Aunt Jamie took of us while we were at the beach. Check out my son's face? Can you tell that he loves having his picture taken? haha I am not really big on the pineapple trend, but I do like the washi tape that came with the kit so I decided to use it at the bottom of the layout to help pull it together.

Supplies: Cardstock: American Crafts, Patterned Paper: Puffy stickers: Die cuts: Washi tape: Pink Paislee, Patterned paper: Webster's Pages, Enamel dot: Freckled Fawn, Stickers: Bella Blvd. (from stash).

My escape

Hi everybody. Today, I have a friendship layout to share with you. I tried to be creative with the "Treasure Island" collection by Pretty Little Studio. I wanted to create a non-beach/vacation layout with this gorgeous collection so I decided to create a friendship layout. Mischelle and I have been friends for over 16 years and she is who I call when I need an escape from my family for a few hours. Even though, we rarely have enough time together, she is there and ready for me when I call and I just love that about her. She holds a special place in my heart. Do you have anyone like that in your life? They are rare and I am fortunate to have such a supportive friend.

Pretty Little Studio Products: Treasure Island: Paper Pack 4x6, Stickers: Adventure Watercolor, Stickers Tiny ABC White, Garland Lighthouse Bunting Flags, Die-Cuts/Arrow Adventure, Tabs/Treasure Map.

Play date with Parker

Today, was a fun day. We had Parker over for the day. We went to the Park for awhile then to McDonalds so they could play. These kids bicker so much... they fight like brothers, but they love each other so much. It's a love-hate relationship between these two. LOL

Here are some of my favorite pictures from today. I got a lot of good ones. :) First thing's first. I just love this one. hehe. These boys are mischievous. Just look at their faces.

I love that I made something so beautiful... He really is a handsome kid.

Aw, seriously. They are so affectionate.

He used to be able to squeeze between the two trees, but now he's too big.

Best buds forever. Edward will cooperate when it comes to getting his pictures taken with his BFF, but when I want him to get them with me, it's a no.

Give these boys a big stick and they're entertained.

Something about this picture, makes me wanna cry.

This boy knows how to work it... I give him that. He wanted to stay a little longer.

My little space

Hi everybody! I hope all is well. Today, I would like to share my space with you. It's a little small, but it works for me. Years ago, I actually had a nice sized room, but when I had Edward, I decided to take the smaller room. There is one benefit to having a smaller space... I am careful about how much I spend on scrapbooking goodies because I don't have a whole lot of space to store it. However, I am getting creative with my space and I love how cozy it looks. What do you think? Can you tell that I love yellow and teal? :)

Just recently, I bought some 8x8 box from Amazon to store my Pretty Little Studio goodies in. These work perfectly for me and you can stack them.

And here are my boxes stacked beneath my work station.

And I am a sucker for cute little bowls. Whenever I visit Target, I cruise down the isles looking for fun little dishes to hold my scrapbooking embellishments.

Last year for my birthday, my friend Jen bought this cute little ceramic birdie for me because she knew how much I loved blue... I love it.

Thank you for stopping by today to see my little space. Hope you have a fabulous day!

Weekend Crop

Hi friends. I don't know about you, but I've been looking forward to this weekend. It's been  a long week and I am looking forward to scrapping a bit. Clique Kits is having a weekend long crop filled with challenges and prizes. If you're looking for something to do, please come join us. We'd love to have you. The event starts on the Clique Kits Facebook page.

Here are a few layouts that I created for the crop. You do not have to have the "Clique into Color" kit in order to participate. You can use supplies that you have on hand.

Before I go, here's the September Mood Board! Any guesses on what will be in this beautiful kit?

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope to see you at the crop!

Time for fun

Hello everyone. Nicole here with a fun layout. I had so much fun with this photo challenge. I was totally inspired as soon as I saw this photo because I love to read and I love the alphas! Having said this, I decided to use some of my Pretty Little Studio Cork Alpha Die-cuts and shapes. Totally fun. I can't get enough of these alphas. Seriously. I really like how the books look in the photo so I decided to scrap across the page to mimic the way the books are lined up next to the book holder.

Products: Pretty Little Studio: Treasure Island Vellum Pirates Journal/Blue 8X8, Transparency Cove/Pacific 8X8, Cork Alpha Die-Cuts, Flair Ocean Adventure, Tabs Treasure Map, Die-cuts Arrow Adventure, Cut-out tags Pirate Vacation Mini Word.

Happy boys

Happy Tuesday everyone! I have some exciting news today. I was invited by Scrapbook and Cards Today to Guest Design using Nicole's free cut file! I am honored and a bit nervous to post on the blog today so I thought long and hard about what I wanted to create for the blog. Their blog always has some killer layouts on there and I didn't wanted to make sure that my layout stood out! I can't help it, I'm competitive like that. :@)

Lately, I've really been into watercolors and stamping so I decided to use these on my layout. They are so much fun to use and I honestly wasn't stressed when I was working on this layout because I was doing what I loved at the moment. Seriously, aren't these kids the cutest?

Supplies: Cardstock: American Crafts, Patterned Paper, Stickers: Enamel dots: Bella Blvd., Star jewels: Freckled Fawn, Stamps: Chickaniddy Crafts (circle and stars), Mommy Lhey (happy), Hero Arts (cloud and sun), Watercolor paints: Royal & Langnickel, Pen: Marvy, Mini stapler: Tim Holtz, Cut file: Scrapbook & Cards Today designed by: Nicole Nowosad.

As soon as I saw the cut files, I knew I'd be able to create something fun with them. I LOVE circles and the cuts files were perfect for what I had in mind. I decided to cut the "arrow and hello circle" from white cardstock. Then I used my Stampin'Up Aqua Pen and watercolors to alter the cardstock. I love that the cuts can go with a variety of themes.

I stamped the cloud and sun onto white cardstock, cut them out and colored the center using my watercolors. Then I used a black marker to trace the edges of my image.

A close up of my journaling and embellishments.

Here is the cut file that I used and you can download it for free, here!
