Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween friends and family! Yesterday, mom, Jamie, Edward and I drove down to College Park, Maryland to visit Aunt Katie. Katie's having a tough time this semester so we thought we'd do something fun this weekend to get her mind off of mid-terms.

Initially, we were going to go to the fall festival in Germantown, but since we got a late start, we decided to carve pumpkins instead! We had fun too. And it was BEAUTIFUL outside.

Here are some of my favorites from our time with Aunt Katie.

Priceless. Somehow, Edward managed to spray pumpkin guts all over Aunt Katie and Michael. :) HAHA, Look at Michael's face.

This was Michael's first time carving a pumpkin. He did good! Nothing like making your first carving BIG. This was a big pumpkin.

Notice how big the pumpkin is compared to Edward's head. hehe

Don't worry, as soon as I have some Halloween pictures, I'll be sharing them! :)

Best Day Ever

Hello everybody, it's me again. I decided to play with my paints, watercolors, and mist for this layout. I have the most fun when I am getting messy. Unfortunately, because of how much time it involves, I don't do it enough. For this layout, I misted and painted on a variety of large tags that I purchased from Ali Edward's shop. LOVE these BIG tags. Don't they look good against the vellum and transparency? I matted my photos with pieces of patterned paper from the Woodland Collection and then once the paint and ink was dry, I added a few die-cuts and cut-aparts.

I was inspired by this sketch by Creative Scrappers! Kristine's sketches always gets my mojo going.

Here are a few close-ups so you can really see everything up close. I totally love everything going on here.

Thanks

Hello everyone. I am really enjoying the November Clique kit. Seriously, it's so pretty! For this layout, I wanted to tell a story using a moment in time. And I used my own hand-journaling. I practiced on a plain piece of paper first and made the lines using a pencil... then I traced it with a pen and erased the marks to avoid making any mistakes.

I love the kraft tags in this kit. And actually, I cannot get enough of them. You'll be seeing them again on another layout. I promise. :) For this layout, I included lots of layers. I used the tags to trace several different tags using the patterned paper from the kit. The marble paper is my favorite! Notice how I pulled the background out by adding the marble tag tucked behind the kraft tag?

Thanks so much for vising today!-Nicole

Darth Vader

Hello everyone. Nicole here with a fun Halloween layout! What are your kiddos going to be for Halloween this year? I think Edward is leaning towards something Minecraft related. He is totally addicted to that game.

Last year, he was Darth Vader and he totally rocked his costume! Well, at least I think so, but naturally, I am bias since he is my cutie. For this layout, I used Bella Blvd.'s Alex collection since I didn't have any Halloween themed papers. I used the Web cut file from Just Nick Studio for my background and LOVE how it turned out. So cool.

I really like the bold font in gray. It works perfectly for this layout! And the cute little plus sign sticker tab.

I love layering a mixture of tabs at the top of my photos. It adds so much to a layout and it's a nice way to pull the layout together, especially when you have multiple photos. And a girl can never have too many arrows when it comes to little boy layouts.

Explore

Hi all. Today, we are featuring Pretty Little Studio's Number Tags on the blog. I have had these number tags in my stash for some time and have yet to use them. Initially, I thought they would be great to use for a list on my layout or action photos, but never took the time to use them. So instead, I decided to use a row of numbers at the bottom of the layout to represent Edward's age right now. I LOVE the adorable photos I took at the pool this summer. That smile gets me EVERY time. :)

For this layout, I decided to use the fun Scribble Circle Background cut file from Just Nick Studio's shop. This digital cut file cut so nicely. And I am so pleased with it. Doesn't it look great in the background. Perfect for this summer layout.

Light the Night 2016

Yesterday was my 7th year participating in the Light the Night walk. We are getting so close to beating cancer for good people!! It makes me feel good every year when I walk to help cure cancer, remember those who I've lost from this terrible disease and to let other people know that I CARE.

I was so happy that Edward agreed to come with me again this year. This was his second year coming and it makes my heart happy that he is willing to share this special night with me and thousands of others in Washington D.C. The walk was long, but he did it without complaining!

Edward was waiting patiently for Parker.

He wanted the lady to make him a mask out of balloons... he is never easy. LOL. However, he settled for a sword instead.

NASA Federal Credit Union's team raised over $25,000.00! Our goal is $30-35k by the end of October. I think we can do it! We had our own tent real close to the band. So cool.

Whenever I see kid drawings like this, they tug at my heartstrings just a little...

Me and Kelly! We have been doing this thing together for 7 years!

Seriously, he just cannot be normal for a picture... I'll take it though.

Playing around to kill time before the walk. They were actually OK this year...

I totally want to visit this Newseum someday!

Before we finished, Edward saw this water fountain and said he wanted to go over... I wanted to get to the bus so we can go home. It was a long day for me. I worked, then went to the walk. It was already 9:00pm. When he said, "because I want to make a wish." I couldn't say no. So I found a quarter and we walked over to the fountain.

After he made a wish, he said he hopes it comes true and that he couldn't tell me what he wished for because it wouldn't come true. But, if it comes true, he will tell me what he wished for! I LOVE this kid. I am not sure how I got so lucky, but I am not taking him for granted!
