DREAMER

Hi everybody! I'm back today with a fun mixed media art journal spread I created for Bad Girls Couture using their gorgeous Art Journal and acrylic paints and mediums. I love BLUE. It's my favorite color so I thought I'd create a blue layout with some yellow and white to help tone down the BLUE. :) I love how this spread came to life. So many textures and embellishments.

Before I applied the paint, I glued a few stencils all over the layout. Once the stencil was dry, I painted over them. Then I used a stencil and molding paste to add some more texture to the spread.

I used matted gel to adhere all of the embellishments. Regular tape runners will not hold everything together... When working in art journals, it's better to use glue or gel!

I painted on white cardstock then ran the cardstock through my printer to print my journaling. Before doing this, I waited an hour to be sure the paint was completely dry. I did not want to break my printer!

I ran the leaf metal die though my Sizzix to add more interest to the cluster of embellishments.

I LOVE YOU BUNCHES

Hi everyone. I have a lovely layout to share with you of two of my favorite people. I really like this picture of Edward and Aunt Katie so decided to play with this layout a bit!

To begin, I sprayed the Sky and Plush Coloration Sprays onto white cardstock. Once the ink was dry, I added a few more sprays of the Sky Coloration Sprays. I really wanted the blue to show in the background.

I stamped the Love You Bunches flower image from Trinity Stamps onto the layout and then colored the leaves and flowers using a variety of markers. I like how little pops of the coloration sprays can be seen on the flowers. It's soooo pretty!

I added a few embellishments from Citrus Twist Kits and Elle's Studio to complete the layout. I went back and forth on what embellishments I wanted to use.

I ended up changing up a few of the embellishments and adding a few things here and there. You will see that in the video! This really was a lot of fun to create. I was off work today and I just wanted to create something pretty.

Here is the video! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EDWARD!

I have a 10 year old! It's hard to believe that over a decade ago, at 12:32 am. this handsome soul entered my life after being in labor for almost 24 hours. And if I had to do it all again, I would because he is the best thing in my life. He is my pride and joy.

He is growing a few inches taller and he is mouthy and sweet and sometimes sour... Just like his mommy. He is a good kid... Seriously, I got so lucky. He's such an incredible human being and I am so glad to call him my son. Just taking a moment to share a few of my favorite photos of Edward for the past 10 years!

This kid is smart, funny, crafty, caring, helpful and polite. Currently, he loves to play Minecrafts, Mario Cart and watch YouTube videos. He reads. Only because I make him. :) But he's in 4th Grade reading above his grade level. He's a math wiz. He's quite the little artist too. He likes to do a bit of everything. He REALLY loves going to grandma's so he can cook. This boy loves to cook. I promise you, he did not get that from me.

He does really well in school and he has so many friends who love and adore him. This makes me happy... Everyone seems to love Edward as much as I do. He's really an awesome kid.

He is going to break many hearts...in  a few years... I just know it!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!

ADVENTURE

Hello! While I wait for the newest summer collection Vitamin Sea to arrive, I decided to use their Poolside collection from last summer to scrapbook this photo from the cruise. I love this photo so much. I framed it and it's sitting on my desk in my craft room.

I am loving all of the white space on this layout with the larger photo. I used stamps from Citrus Twist to stamp the words and heart at the bottom using inks from Catherine Pooler. LOVE these colors...they go with this collection, perfectly. I used Rouge, Suede Shoes, Mardi Gras and Sauna.

I used large gluedots to add dimension by popping the flowers up off the page a bit. Then I added some gems to the center of the flowers. I added a few additional die cuts here and there to make the design more playful.

Loving the sun die cut that I cut in half and tucked it behind the "This is the life" die cut. The embellishments look so pretty across the top of the photo. I just love it.

Thank you for visiting today! Hope you're having a fantastic weekend. I just got back from the grocery store and now...I plan on making a few cards and just having fun!

YOU ARE AN AWESOME HUMAN

Happy Saturday everybody! I have a fun layout to share with you using the "You Are An Awesome Human" and the "Spring Fling Florals" stamp set. I was in the mood to color a few weekends ago so I grabbed my stamps and markers and just had fun.

While I was creating this layout, I decided I needed some hearts to show the love... The Nested Hearts are perfect for creating your own layered heart die cuts from patterned paper. They come in a variety of sizes to work with just about any size layout/card you decide to create.

I stamped some flowers at the bottom of the layout and added a few Bubble Blowers. LOVE this little bubbles!

I colored inside the stamps using a few markers.

As an afterthought, I hand-cut some more flowers from my scraps to add more dimension using foam squares.

Thank you for visiting today! Here is a video to see how this adorable layout came together.

LOVE

Hi everyone. These past five months have flown by. My sister had her first baby in August and I am excited because that means I'll be scrapbooking my baby nephew. Edward is getting sick of posing for me. :) My sister had a professional take newborn photos of Henry and they are ADORABLE!

I created another project for Pinkfresh Studio's February Challenge. I had some things on hand that works with the theme so I figured, why not?! And to mix it up, it's an art journal spread.

The Woody doll used to be Henry's father's when he was a boy. Mat, gave it to Edward when he was two years old... seven years later, we gave it back to Mat so he could give it to Henry.

I decided to use the Kraft Tab art journal page for this layout since I wanted to sick with browns and blues for this spread. I wanted to keep it simple, focusing on the photo.

If you haven't played in one of these journals, you are missing out. I love flipping through my journal, touching and feeling all of the embellishments. These art journals are truly one of a kind. I like how the vintage ribbon binds the book. It's very pretty and feminine.

Here is a close up of the embellishments. I used a strong glue to mount the burlap down on the layout. Then I matted the photo using a variety of journaling cards from Pinkfresh Studio. Once I was satisfied with the arrangement, I glued the matted photo down and added the embellishments. This was super simple, but effective. Sometimes, a little goes a long way. I never feel like I need to add a lot to my layouts. I just do what I like.

Thanks so much for visiting today! I hope you have a fantastic week!

BE HAPPY CARDS

Happy Sunday all! I have a few cards that I made for Altenew's color inspiration challenge this month. I love yellow...it makes me so happy! Click here to join!

For these cards, I used the Smile More Stamp Set and the "BE HAPPY" sentiments from the Geometrics Flowers Stamp set.

I used the Artist B set markers to color in the flowers and the Artist A set to color in the leaves. Both cards are 3"x4". I am not normally a card maker, but when I do make them, I prefer making smaller cards. It's easier for me...and I keep them simple!

Thanks for stopping by today! Don't forget, there's still time to get your entries in!
