Fun with die cut papers!

Hello everyone. I have a Spring layout to share with you today. I love the simplicity of this layout! Since I do not own a Silhouette, I decided to try and use the Die Cut papers by Simple Stories to achieve a similar look without having to do the work. And I think it worked! What do you think? To complete the layout, I added some adorable tags by Elle's Studio with a few project life cards. This was the quickest layout ever and it doesn't look too simple either...

Here's an example of the Die cut papers up close and personal.

Visitng Aunt Mischelle

Last month, Edward and I decided to go and visit Aunt Mischelle for lunch. It's been too long since we've seen her. I always feel bad because I don't get to spend much time with her nowadays... It's hard when I work during the week and have a three year old. When I'm home, I pretty much try to spend all my free time with Edward which doesn't leave much time for me to go out with friends. When he's a little bigger, I hope to change this, but right now, he needs his mommy.

I love how this layout turned out. I mixed some older Basic Grey papers with some newer paper. Love how the photo just blends in with the patterns too. I also tried to step out of the box a little bit here... notice the big chipboard pieces? Yea, at first, I had issues using them, but after a day, I decided that I really love it! Sometimes doing something different can be a good thing :)

I love how my son is naturally creative. Give him some sand, sticks, rocks and a truck, and he'll find amazing things to do with them. On this particular day, he played with his truck in the sand quietly for an hour. I just sat down on a bench from a distance and observed him... enjoying the peace and quiet. I love how this layout turned out. The "Yours Truly" paper pack by Glitz Design was perfect for this layout! This collection is one of my favorites by Glitz Design and I must admit, I've been hoarding some stuff, but decided to use it today when I wanted to scrap these photos. And I received some Die cut papers made by Simple Stories and love them!!! They are perfect if you do not have a Silhouette and want to achieve the same look on your project!

Beach fun

Being the nice mom that I am, I allowed Edward's friend Parker to spend the day with us on my day off. They had such a great time together. Pete took them to the park for an hour this morning and I took a small nap. When we got up from our naps, we went to the beach for a few hours. Pete and I were sitting there enjoying the silence and then he said, "this is the quietest they've been all day." I couldn't stop laughing because it was so true.

On the way home, I hear Edward talking in the back seat to Parker.

Edward: Parker, I'm glad you came today. It was fun.

Parker: Me too. I had fun.

Edward: Hey Parker, high five.

And I hear their palms slap against each other. So precious! I enjoyed having them, but was reminded why I only have one and have no interest in having another baby :) Edward has friends to keep him company... I don't mind keeping other kids for the day because I can give them back :)

Happy 4th of July!

Last night we took the boat out with some friends to watch the fireworks. I love how pretty the fireworks look over the water!! Absolutely beautiful. And best of all, it wasn't really hot! The weather was perfect! Here are some of my favorite photos from last night. I love living in Arden. Fun times, great people...

Isn't this the cutest boat ever? lol

Love, love, love this.
