Cozy Crop House

I'm honestly not looking forward to this week with Edward still recovering from his surgery. Thank goodness my sister kept him this past weekend so I could get a little break before I battle this week. I thought it would be better since it's been a week, but he is still in so much pain. I really can't imagine... All I can do is hold him and love him and make sure he takes his meds as well as drinking lots of fluids. It's a tough job!

Here are some of the photos I took over the weekend. This was my fourth year going to the Cozy Crop House and I really enjoyed being with some good friends and my mom. The time flew by!! Before I knew it, it was time to come back home to deal with reality... :) Don't ya just love that? Right...

While I was at the house, I realized that I never took any photo of the place the past few times I've been there so I decided to take a few! I forgot to get our bedroom... Maybe next year I'll get it. I'm planning on going back February 26, 2016. It's such a great deal. For the cost of $265.00 bux, you get to stay at the house and crop all weekend and they feed you around the clock!! CHEAP! It's so nice to be able to scrap with no interuptions.

I've never actually sat in this area... who has time to relax when there's scrapping to be done!
I love how this place looks so  cozy. It feels like home everytime I go...
I love the blue curtains in the dining room! Seriously, it's awesome.
Lots and lots of tools. I always forget about this section, but managed to use a few this time!
And I am impressed that I didn't need to buy anything in the store... I had everything that I needed. Notice the pillow at the bottom right side of the photo. It has rows and rows of ribbon that was stitched to the pillow case. This was from our room and the comforter is the same! LOVE IT!
This was Mischelle's second year coming with me! I am so happy that I got her into scrapping. We've been best friends for over 16 years and she finally caved. HAHA! Sucker!
Last year, mom couldn't make it, but she came this year! I was so happy... We don't get enough  time when it's just the two of us... She usually watches Edward so I can get a break.
Until next year! Off to mail my check for mom and I.

Getting fancy in here...

Hi everyone. Hope all is well. Poor Edward was up last night crying because his throat hurt and the doctor did say that would happen after six days because his body is forming new tissue. It's so hard seeing him in pain. It's breaking my heart. Hopefully, he will feel better tomorrow.

I had such a great time at the Cozy Crop House this weekend. And I got a lot done. Before I left for the crop, I purchased the "Flutter" collection by Fancy Pants. I couldn't help it. It had teal in it and I couldn't resist! Haha. Here are some layouts that I created with it.

I will post some photos from the crop shortly. I am just getting settled in.

Supplies: Patterned paper: Die cuts: Buttons: Chipboard: Fancy Pants Designs, Enamel dots: Doodlebug Design, Enamel hearts: Chickaniddy Crafts, Die cutting machine: Silhouette.

Paint it

Hi everyone. I have another fun layout to share with you using the April Clique kit. I must admit, I love die cuts, wood veneers and embellishments in general. I especially love all of the goodies by Pinkfresh Studio in the April Clique Kit! It's seriously Divine. This month, I decided to pull out my paint to use on the wood veneer that came in the kit. I wanted to create a fun, happy layout to introduce my new pet piggie, Hamlet! Yes, we got a little piggie for Edward's 5th birthday. At first, I wasn't thrilled with the idea, but over the past few weeks, I've come to love the little guy! He's so smart and cute.

Supplies: Patterned paper, Rub-ons: Stickers: Die cuts: Wood veneer: Pinkfresh Studio, Paint: Studio Calico, Pen: Pilot, Enamel dots: Doodlebug Design.

I decided to use the rub-ons on paper and then cut them out and adhered them using foam squares to make them pop off the page. Love, love, love the gold rub-ons. They are the perfect ascents for any scrapbooking project and so easy to use.

One more day!

Yay, only one more day and I will be scrapping with my mom and good friends all weekend long at the Cozy Crop House! I can't wait! This will be my fourth time going. It's been a really rough week with Edward recovering from having his tonsils and adnoids taken out. He also had to have tubes placed in his ears. Poor guy. I am hoping that he feels much better tomorrow. He is getting sick of me and I don't blame him. Aunt Jamie and momom will be taking good care of him while I'm away. I think I need it... especially since I will be home with him all of next week while he recovers. For those of you who think tonsils are no big deal. I think it's different for all kids and it's not a little surgery. It's a tough surgery for your little ones.

Come on Friday. I've been waiting an entire year for 3/27/15.

Fun with printables

Hi everybody! I have a really fun layout to share with you today. Have you seen the fun print-ables that came with the April Clique kit? OMG, I just love the color pallet. Such a fun combination of die cut patterns, tags and labels. CK_Apr15_Printables (1) I also love the papers and cards by Pinkfresh Studio. So very pretty.

I love printables because they are perfect for when you're running out of embellishments! Simply keep them in one folder and save them for a day when you need them. I print mine on heavy white cardstock and they look great. Why not try using printables on your next layout. It's a great way to save money on your supplies because you can never run out of printables, just be sure to keep a good stock of cardstock and ink.

Gymnastics 1st birthday party

Edward had such a blast at Cooper's birthday party today!! The party was a ten so i stopped at Bean Cafe to grab a white chocolate mocha and off we went. We spent about 15 minutes driving up and down Defense Highway trying to find a place, but after I called Cooper's daddy, we found it with no problem! Edward was worried we wouldn't make it in time.

There were a lot of kids there! I was surprised at the turn out for a ten o'clock party... And the kids would running around like they were the one who had coffee... lol. I was not ready for the chaos yet. I just hug back and watched Edward enjoy himself. He has so many little friends that he has made at school. He made me smile watching him socialize. He's awesome. Really.

Here are some of my favorite photos from today... many of them turned out blurry because Edward was on the run the entire time!

Nice and tidy

Hi everyone. Today, I would like to share my scrapspace with you! Before I had Edward, I had a much larger space, but then two years ago, I decided to give him my big scraproom for the little room that is about 9x9. It's a bit tight in my scraproom, but I made it work for me. This is my favorite corner. I just love the blues and yellows in my room. These colors together, make me happy. As you can see, it's nothing fancy, just a small room that I call my own.

#nicole martel, #scrapspace

Slightly to the leftside of my room, I have two metal shelves that I purchased from Ikea for under $50 bux. I would like a nicer set of shelves, but these work for now. I honestly don't have a lot of scrap supplies on display because I use what I buy! It's a wonderful thing... Years ago, I would buy so much stuff that I didn't know what to do with all of it. I've cut back quite a bit since then.

And here's where I sit to blog and chat on Facebook!

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope to see you again soon.
