Prayers answered

Most of you might know this already but just in case you don't, my husband is a stay at home dad. He has been home with Edward since he was born. We had planned on Pete staying home with Edward for a year and then we would put him in a day care center. We felt that it was important that we try to keep him home that first year.

One year led to 19 months. And I'm not gonna lie, it's been really tough... the bills etc... you know how it is. It is not pretty. Pete has been looking for a job since the summer.

BUT... He had a few interviews with this one Windows Company that pays really well and he got the job!!! He starts October 10th. I have been praying that things got better and God answered my prayers today. So we now have to find day care quickly. Pete has a few ideas but worst case, we will put him in the Kinder care that will be right around the corner from Pete's new job.

Also, I'm excited that Pete will be working at least a weekend day because this will give him a day off during the week to spend with the little man and I will keep him home with me on Wednesday since I am on Flex.

I hope this is the beginning of our lives turning around because for awhile there, I was very worried about EVERYTHING. So worried that I can't even eat because I'm too busy worrying about EVERYTHING.

I think Edward is ready to be around other kids his age and I know that after the first few days, he will be happy!

Finger painting

So last week when I got home from work, Pete told me to look at the pictures he took of Edward from the day... so I go check them out and literally laughed out loud. He's a fun boy... one of his favorite things to do is finger painting with yogurt.I just love how creative he is with the little things!

Happy plant

This month I decided to challenge myself to create a fun and happy plant! Isn't this so adorable? I will let you in on a little secret... it's not an actual plant. Save yourself the work and go to Petsmart and buy grass that they sell for the kitties to enjoy :)No matter what, it's still going to look adorable and less messier.

Light the night 2011

This Saturday I met up with my friend Kelly and Jen and their friends to do the "Light the Night" walk in Annapolis. This was my second year doing it and it really makes me feel like I am helping out for a good cause! We raised almost $1500 as a branch.

Scrap your man!

Today I want to share two layouts with you. I decided to scrap a few layouts with me and my hubby. I don't scrap him enough and I really should... I want my son to have something to look back on later... and that is lots of layouts of his parents! For my first layout I decided to play with the "Love Games" line.

Supplies used:

I'm loving the cooler weather!

I'm really loving this cooler weather!! Edward and I had a good morning. We woke up at 8:30, had some eggs, got dressed and went outside to play for awhile. He was one happy boy :) Isn't he handsome?

He is such a ham!

Gosh I love this boy of mine. He's such a ham. I can't believe that he will be 19 months on the 21st! He's like a little person now and he's REALLY repeating things lol... Like when I got home and yelled Pete and yelled Pete and then he yelled Daaaaad! So cute. Momom, if you're reading this, thank you for the adorable pj's. Edward LOVES them!! He smiles when I pull them out :)

Altered pendant

Today I decided to play with my paints! I was a little bored but didn't feel like scrapping so instead, I decided to alter my cute pendant made by G.C.D Studios. I believe you can purchase these pendants at your local Michael's or Joanne's.

The paints by Tattered Angels looks fabulous against the chipboard. First I splashed a dab of each of these colors of paint on the chipboard and then blended them together with a brush to make purple. The glimmer glams used were Chandelier, Love Potion No.9 and Mermaid. Using the Mermaid paint, I painted the tiny butterfly by Jenni Bowlin and used a heat gun to dry it. I put the heat really close to the paint to make the paint bubble up to give it a bit of texture.

Once the paint dried, I used a wooden mount stamp by Tim Holtz and some dye ink to create a little floral pattern.

I then glued the tiny butterfly to the center of the pendant and waited for it to dry. And here is the outcome. Isn't it pretty?

Get inspired and messy!

Seriously, aren't these colors gorgeous? I just love this photo! When I first saw it, I couldn't take my eyes off of it... then after I managed to pull my eyes away from the photo, I got to thinking, "what on earth am I going to scrap using these colors?" and then I realized that I have a great fall photo of me that I love...

I bet you've probably wondered how to use these plain papers by Donna? I know because when I first came across them, I thought to myself, "there's no way I can use these papers... they are just too plain... they need color!" But no one said you couldn't mess these papers up! I had so much fun painting, misting and glamming up these papers to make them work for me!

Here's my inspiration to help me select the colors for my layout.

I coated the papers with mists and chalkboard mist and then created little buds with orange glimmer glaze. I also painted my tags orange and cut them in half for a fun border.

Hope you've enjoyed your stay. Please come back to visit!
