HEHE, The hubs is gonna kill me... He finally made it in a scrapbook magazine and looking his best... Not! :) That's what he gets for looking old manish and not allowing me to take his picture on his good days! I used lots of Creative Memories and some mist by Tattered Angels on this layout!

Rest in peace

Last night when I got home, Pete asked if I had any plans for today... I said no, I just planned on spending the day with my little man. Then Pete mentions that Paw-Paw's ear is infected. Over the last 7 years, he has always had a problem licking and chewing on himself and also he was obsessive with scratching. We have paid almost 4k to have two ear surgies and one tumor removed within the past two years. And yesterday we noticed the other ear was inflamed. His ear was so swollen it looked like his ear was going to explode :(

Even if I had paid 3k for surgery again to remove another tumor and fix his ear, he will continue to have ear issues and skin problems. His paws are always infected and he is always crying because he miserable...So last night I prayed on it... we don't have a lot of money right now and even if I did a payment plan, he will always have the same problems. I wanted a better quality life for Paw-Paw and that's why I decided to let him go today.

I had Edward with me and it was the worst thing I had to do. I cried myself to sleep last night and woke up crying. While we were there, Edward kept calling Paw-Paw's name and when we left, he held his arms up asking where Paw-Paw was and I just told him that Paw-Paw is very sick, he's in heaven now.

So I came home, fed Edward lunch, put him to bed and I'm bawling and shaking. Pete called and I could barely talk. I just told him that the day I have to put Daisy down, he will do it because I can't handle that again and Pete better never ask me for another dog. We have my beautiful girl Daisy and after her, no other dog will fit in my heart.

Rest in peace Paw-Paw. I love you and that is why I did what I did today. Please forgive me.

Create your own little paper balloons

Have you looked at the Pinterest website? Seriously, that place is loaded with tons of inspiration that you could use for your house or scrapbooking projects! I thought these paper pom-poms were adorable so I decided to make something of my own. I decided to create a fun little paper balloon for a card.

First you need to punch 6- 1-1/2'' squares from pattern papers of your choice using your Creative Memories punch.

Once you have your circles punched, fold each circle in half.

Glue each half circle side by side and use a mini clip to hold the pieces together until they are dried.

Once your pieces are dried, pull the ends so the circle is laying flat on the paper.

This is what it will look like completely dried.

And here is my card! I hope I was able to inspire you today. Please come back back because we will have more to inspire you with as the month goes on!

Supplies used: Patterned Paper: G.C.D Studios (Animal Crackers for Boys), Stamp: Catslife Press, Postage stamp rotary blade: Creative Memories.

6:45 a.m

So at 6:45 a.m this morning this is what I saw... Edward surrounded by his friends! Pete told me that he places them in different spots at night :) I LOVE how creative and fun my son is. He is the best!

And his favorite time of the day... he loves his little color tablets. Don't try and put him in the bath without them! lol

Let's stitch up!

I remember when I was a little girl, my grandmother would sit me in front of the TV to watch “The Price is Right”, while she sat at her wooden desk with her sewing machine tapping away. I loved the sound of the sewing machine. There was something calming about those moments when I watched my grandmother sew little dresses for me. I could see that she truly enjoyed sewing as her hobby.

When I was in my early teens, I remember asking my grandmother why she didn’t sew anymore. I noticed that she never sewed and was curious. She had told me that the hobby became too expensive and that she couldn’t buy the materials and supplies needed. Years later, I realize how sad that must have been for my grandmother. I can not imagine giving up my scrapbooking for anything. If the time came to where I couldn’t afford to buy scrapbook supplies, it would break my heart.

Some might think that sewing is hard and too much work but I'm here to show you that it doesn't need to be and you don't necessarily need a sewing machine to get a "stitched" look on your layout.

He are some close ups. (I'm sorry that the layout looks lighter then what it actually is, my scanner is acting up) but it's a true blue. The color is gorgeous! You can mimick this same look using your gold metalic pen and a ruler!

Go ahead and dig out those beautiful photos and create a layout using stitching. Don't worry about not owning a sewing machine, try “faking it” with an ink pen or by using your doodling templates. Have fun and enjoy the process!

Edward's first few days in day care

So this week the little man started day care. It wasn’t easy for Pete and I. It broke my heart thinking about it… I felt bad that Pete had to drop the little guy off in the am. And I really felt bad for Edward because Pete had to drop him off at an unfamiliar place with people and kids he did not know. Can you imagine? I can’t.

Edward’s first day was on Wednesday. Pete walked in, put Edward down and let him explore his surroundings. I was sad because Pete left when Edward was pre-occupied. I must have cried three times while at work on Wednesday because Pete just left… he didn’t say, “I’ll be back to get you later buddy” like I would have… Believe me, I know that its better just to leave when Edward isn’t looking but it’s still tough because I can feel what he’s feeling… when he turns around and daddy is gone… and he’s on his own. Argh, it’s a horrible feeling.

Wednesday night Edward woke up around 10 pm screaming so I went in to grab him because I know the differences in his cries and something was wrong. He was so upset… I think he was stressed. He had tears streaming down his face which is so unlike him. I could tell that he was tired but just wanted to be held. I held him for about 15 minutes but he did not calm down. Pete came upstairs because he heard Edward so I gave Edward some Benadryl and I gave him to Pete. Pete held Edward in his room on his lap where Edward fell asleep within a half hour. I peeked in on him and they looked so sweet. I heard Pete whisper to Edward that everything is OKAY. Doesn’t this make you want to cry for the little guy to?

Thursday was a much better day! Pete and I were curious how he would react when they pulled up to the front of the day care and walked in… I felt for sure that Edward would put up a fight if he did not want to be there… he never forgets… so I’m sure he recognized the place but he did well! He walked in and started playing. He did have a few tears at the daycare but nothing like Wednesday and Pete said that before they left the day care, Edward was blowing his teacher kisses! This made me feel better.

I think the little man’s going to be okay!

Massanutten, Virginia

Yesterday Edward and I just got home from spending a long weekend in Massanutten, Virginia with my mom, momom, aunt Jamie and aunt Katie. It was a much needed mini vacation and we had so much fun. Edward was so good on his first vacation away from home. He loved being with his people :) Here are a few of my favorite pictures from our weekend.

This morning when I went to grab Edward from his crib, I pulled the shades so he could see the trees and the sunlight... he knows that it's morning when the sun is out. So when I pulled the shades he yells "S"! And I correct him by saying "no, that's a Z for Zane" and he yells, "no, no, S!!" So while he was eating his pumpkin bread and banana for breakfast this morning I wrote the ABC's out on paper and went over them with him. He loves it too!
