Edward got to meet the Easter bunny!

So glad to see that Edward loved meeting the Easter bunny since he's not a big fan of Santa... mom took him last week! I wish he would smile like this when I take his picture... but then again, Jen made a good point the other day... I always have the camera in his face... lol.

God bless you!

Today I had a member come in for assistance. I remember her from a few months ago. She wanted to make the same transaction as before. While I was completing her transaction, she talked to me and I actually took the time to LISTEN to her. I didn’t nod and focus on her transaction to get her out of the branch; I really listened to what she was telling me. She told me that she enjoyed her life and worked as a flight attendant for 27 years. She has lived her life and loved every minute of it. She told me how she takes care of her mom because she can’t imagine anyone else doing it… it’s her momma.

While we were talking, she told me that I should NEVER let someone stop me from doing what I want to do. I told her that I don’t have a problem there…I told her how a few years ago, my husband didn’t think it was a good idea for me to go to college for my bachelors degree but I did it anyway. I told her how I’ve made lots of decisions in my life that I wasn’t comfortable with but I listened to what my heart told me I needed to do… and it’s always been the best decisions…

She told me that God is always with me. She asked if I prayed, I said yes, often. I told her how when I was younger, I prayed for something that came through just a few years later. (That was when I was younger and wanted God to find me new parents who didn’t neglect their children… I ended up getting adopted at 15). She asked if I was praying for something now and I said yes, everyday. She told me to keep praying and I will get it. She also told me that I am a blessing and that my family and my husband loved me dearly. She said she liked how I was actually LISTENING because most people don’t listen to her when she talks to them. She gave me a card signed by her, saying “God Bless you”. She got up and gave me a hug and left.

While she was talking to me, I had goose bumps up my arms and felt a presence. It was the weirdest feeling I have ever experienced. After she left, I calmly got up from my desk and walked back to the bathroom and cried and thanked God for that conversation with Ms. Cobb. I needed to hear what she had to say. It’s nice to hear someone tell me that I’m a blessing at a time when I feel so down and un-appreciated and taken for granted.

Like I need another hobby...

I know what you’re thinking… Where do I find time for another hobby? But anyways, I really love how layouts look with “real” stitching, not fake stitching with rub-ons and pens like I usually do. So, I had a sewing machine I purchased for $15.00 on EBay a few years ago and never used the thing because I have never used a sewing machine in my life… so Wednesday, I took it over to momom’s to see if she could help teach me the basics. Turned out, there wasn’t a light on it and she said it would be easier to teach me how to use my mom’s machine…

So she taught me the basics on mom’s machine and I took it home with me. ***sorry mom*** Just let me know when you need it and I’ll bring it back… I am just experimenting here… I may decide that the sewing machine is too much work for my simple layouts but we shall see.

So last night, I got started on some assignments for SFTIO Kit Club and decided to try stitching on my layout. Let me tell you how nervous I was to have a layout that was practically 75% complete and here I am sewing on it for the first time... I did make a few mistakes, but I managed to cover them up with stickers :)But I learn things better by throwing myself into it! LOL... I know, I am a crazy girl.

Can you figure out the papers in the photo? (they will be in the April SFTIO Kit). Be on the look out for more sneaks on the SFTIO blog this week!

March 19, 2012

Hello! Today I would like to share a layout I created using the March SFTIO kit. This was the last layout of the 5 required that I completed and it came together so quickly because all I did was throw my scraps together! I didn't worry too much about having just a few embellies because I really think the mixture of patterns made the layout work!

I know that most of you are probably thinking there's no way you can scrap with just a few pieces of paper and embellies but why not try? I'll even help you with a sketch I created! Just don't make fun of my chicken scratch :) Have fun and enjoy the process!

Creating simple embellies using your kit!

Hello! Today I would like to share a layout with you in which I created my very own embellishment using the March Kit by SFTIO! Since I'm a simple scrapper, I don't like spending more than 30-40 minutes on a layout. So I basically pull out the supplies that match up with the photos I'm working with and just run with it... I always use my photos to inspire me, not the product.

While I'm working on my layout, I like to find unique ways to use my embellies. I love making fun embellishments of my own to cut the cost of supplies... Having said this, I am going to share with you, how I created this fun butterfly embellishment on my layout.

1. First mist the butterflies and leaf with desired color of mist.
2. Once the mist is dry, staple one butterfly on top of the other. (I use my mini stapler by Tim Holtz. It's a must have!)

3. Adhere a piece of the hexagon chipboard to the center of the butterfly using a foam square.

4. Adhere a pearl to the center of the chipboard using a glue dot.

5. Decorate the butterfly with some bling from your stash.

Now what do you think? It looks easy right? And doesn't it look fabulous? I love mine and hope I was able to inspire you today!

The Hunger Games

So what's everyone reading right now? I started reading "The Hunger Games" on Saturday and I cannot put the book down but I have to every now and then due to having a toddler :) What a great book. I am almost finished with the first of the three.

Here is what the book is about from Barne's & Noble's website:

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning?

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before-and survival

I am hoping that by tomorrow night, I'll be on the second book, "Catching Fire!"

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.
As Recommended by Stephenie Meyer and Charlaine Harris.

And hopefully by April, I will be on the third book, "Mockingjay."

The greatly anticipated final book in the New York Times bestselling Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins.

The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.

Who do they think should pay for the unrest?

Katniss Everdeen.

The final book in The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins will have hearts racing, pages turning, and everyone talking about one of the biggest and most talked-about books and authors in recent publishing history!!!!

Enchanted Collection by Creative Memories

Hello Friends! Nicole Here today and I hope to inspire you with a fun outdoors layout. A few weeks ago I had a half a day at work so when I got home, I bundled the little man up and we went to the park. When we got there, his little face lit up. He was so excited. I let him play on the slides and swing for about twenty minutes and then he saw the trail… and that’s when my little man grabbed my hand and urged me to take a walk with him on the trail.

Have I mentioned that I love that boy? He’s got such a sweet heart already at the age of 2 and he really appreciates the little things such as taking a walk on the trail enjoying the peace and quiet. He loved it and so did I. It was such a great day and I’m looking forward to some warmer weather so we can do it again.

I really love the beautiful water colors in the Enchanted Power Palette Set. The papers and embellishments are absolutely stunning! And did you notice something HUGE?? Creative Memories now sells BLING!!! Wholey smokes right? That’s FUN news! So I was the lucky girl who got to play with this beautiful collection and I think I need another set of everything  I think I need some more of this collection so I can hoard it on the shelf…

And here are a few close ups:

And I'll share with you two other layouts that I created for personal use because I adore this collection...
