Dear Scott Mini

Hello! I hope all is well with you! Today I am just going to share a quick and easy mini album that I created for my sister. A few months ago, I came across some post about her relationship with her boyfriend and thought it was so touching so I wanted to create something that she will always have to remember these precious times. I hope she found her soulmate because it's not easy to find that special person you want to be with for the rest of your life but she is SO happy with Scott and I am truly happy for her.

Family fun with Nicole Martel

Hello! Today I would like to share two of my most favorite layouts that were just recently published in Scrapbook Trends Create Magazine. Notice how I followed the same design for both of these? I usually have a difficult time scrapping 4x6 photos so when I came up with this design for my first layout, the second layout came together within minutes!

Glitz Design 'Happy Travels" patterned paper
Glitz Design "Happy Travels" Rhinestones
Glitz Design "Happy Travels" Cardstock stickers
Glitz Design "Happy Travels" Epoxy stickers
Glitz Design Teeny alphas

Heart border punch: Creative Memories
Corner rounder: Creative Memories
Adhesives: Creative Memories
And here is my second layout. My momom always worries that Edward will not remember her... and I am constantly telling her that he will because he is always asking for her. He is her first great grandchild and she absolutely adores him as much as he adores her.

Why did you do it?

Hello ladies. Today, I’m going to share with you my thought process when I created this layout for SFTIO. As soon as my kit arrived, I immediately started going through the kit to see all of the beautiful papers and embellishments that I would be working with.

I fell in love with the gray and white chevron paper by Hambly and the cloud vellum papers by American Crafts so I pulled them out. Initially, I was going to use the gray cardstock with these patterns but felt it was too much gray so I added in white cardstock and added a little mist to add a bit more color. Like all of my layouts, I cut the chevron paper down to 8 1/2X11 and the white cardstock down to 7 1/2X10 inches (using my favorite corner rounder by Creative Memories to punch the top left and bottom right corner) and matted them together.

After I finished prepping the base of my layout, I used a scrap piece of paper to write out my journaling to prevent me from making errors on the actual layout then I printed two photos that I wanted to use.

I cut a piece of the chevron paper to use as my background for one of my pictures and tucked a tag beneath the other photo. I love the Polaroid patterned so I decided to cut one of the patterns out to use as an embellishment and journaling mat on my layout. I also layered a few pieces of paper behind the photos to make it more interesting.

I added a black title directly onto my photo to save space and added the gorgeous die cut flower (after picking it apart) to the left side of the layout so everything is horizontal. I pulled some pearls from my stash to use with the flower since it looked lonely. I love how this layout turned out. It has such a peaceful feeling to it, doesn’t it?

Let's get sketchy

Happy Sunday ladies and gents! Hope all is well. Today I want to share a fun layout I created using the August SFTIO Kit. Since this month's emotional theme is "Escape" I decided to scrap a photo of me in Costa Rica, zip lining 345 feet in the air. Gosh, it was FUN! I can't wait to go back to Costa Rica.

Here's the sketch. Feel free to use it on your next project!

And here's my layout :) Doesn't this look fun as hell? I can assure you, it was after I stopped thinking about the bad things that could happen... like the line breaking with me 345 feet in the air...

If you haven't ordered your kit, you might wanna do it soon before it sells out. I wouldn't want you to miss out on this fun kit :) Yes, I'm gonna enable you. hehe.

Hectagon fun with Nicole Martel

Hello everyone. Hope you're in for a fun weekend! Today I would like to share a fun layout that I created. I used lots of product from the Afternoon Muse Collection. The first thing I did was spray a little mists on the cardstock and then I used the Afternoon Muse Corner stamp for the top right and bottom left of my layout.

I created my own unique background using several patterned papers, whatnots and my hectagon punch by Creative Memories. I love whatnots, but sometimes I find them hard to use the entire thing, therefore I prefer using bits and pieces from them. While I was trying to place the hectagons on my layout, I thought of a way to make it easier on myself. I punched the shapes and adhered them to cardstock and once I was sure I had the shapes where I wanted them, I trimed the outer edge and adhered it to the base of my layout.

I hope I inspired you to try using your stamps and punches to create a fun layout of your own. Thanks for visiting and please come again.

Happy Saturday,

Celebrating 25 years of memories

Hello everyone. Did you know that Creative Memories is celebrating 25 of memories this year? It's true and they just announced that they will be celebrating for at least another 25 years! Creative Memories is how I got started scrapping and I'm so honored to be on their design team. It has been a wonderful experience and I hope it doesn't end anytime soon! I just found this on their website. I enjoyed reading their beliefs and I think you will too.

Hope you have a great weekend!

My little Nemo

I'm seriously sad right now! So this morning Pete saw Edward's first Halloween costume in the closet and put it on him. I can't believe that over 2 years later, it still fits him but it does and it made me want to cry because he's growing so fast! But, it also made me smile because he's so cute and fun at this stage...

So here are some pictures from his first Halloween at 8 months old.

And here he is at 2 1/2 wearing the same outfit, running around in the yard in his NEMO costume, after he actually watched NEMO this morning. We must have watched NEMO like 5 times these past few days. He loves him.

I must admit, he makes a cute little NEMO and I love watching him have fun. Wiping tears and smiling now.
