Happy Halloween!

Edward had so much fun trick-or-treating tonight! He had a blast and he yelled trick-or-treat most of the time. We made him walk to tire him out too. He loves the fact that he has an entire bucket of candy. He got soooo much chocolate, but his favorites are the sour worms and lollipops.

It didn't take him long after we got home to dig into his stash :)

And I even dressed up today with my work friends :) Don't we rock?

A friendship mini for a friend!

Hello scrappers. Nicole here today with a quick and easy mini album. A few months ago, my cousin asked me if I would be willing to make a friendship mini album for her to give to her best friend who just went away for college. And since I enjoy making things for other people, I said of course! The "Hello Friend" collection was the perfect fit for my mini. I love the soft colors and pretty embellishments! I think I need another set because I've been using this collection like it's going out of style. LOL.

Paper embellishments

Hello everyone! Today I am going to share a layout using lots of paper embellishments. While I was scrapping, I realized that I was running low on embellishments so I had no idea where this layout was going... I sort of went with the flow.

I started by laying different papers down and stitching them together using my sewing machine. Then I placed the photo in the center of the layout and decided to use that as my focal point. From that point, I decided to print a digital embellishment and add that below my photo and I hand-cut the banner from patterned paper!

I used a stamp and ribbon to fill in some white space and created a paper pinwheel to finish the layout!

Here are some close ups on how to create a pinwheel of your own:

Instructions for how to create a pinwheel:

1. Use 1 2 1/2"x2 1/2" Square as your base.
2. Using a paper piercer, poke a hole in the center of the square.
3. Using a pair of scissors, create cuts from each points towards the center leaving a small space in between.
4. Fold ends towards the middle, using glue dots to hold them in place.
5. Add a brad or die-cut to the center.

Family fun

Hello scrappers. I just have a quick and easy layout. I had so much fun working with Vintage Street Market papers on this layout. The patterns are fabulous and I love their color combinations. Notice how I used the sheer heart ribbon? It’s my new favorite! I used some ribbon as a border and then with a few leftover pieces, I carefully cut the hearts out and adhered them to my layout using Gluedots. Don’t they look great? I love it when I think of new ideas to stretch my supplies.

I love this ribbon by May Arts. The possibilities are endless! If you don't like this color, there are other colors to chose from. Click here!

Pumpkin Carving

Hello! Today Grandma took Edward to the pumpkin farm to pick out pumpkins and tonight, Edward asked if we could cut the pumpkin. And of course I said yes! This is such a fun age, he has so much fun doing the simplest things. Here are some of my favorite photos so that his Meme can see them!

Making your own embellishments stand out

Hello scrappers! Today I would like to share a fun tutorial on how you can create your own unique embellishments using supplies you have on hand. Sometimes, I find that I love my embellies, but they might look too plain and that’s when I  go digging through my stash to see what I’ve got. I think that embellishments are meant to be layered with other embellishments J

Here’s a fun tutorial on how you can create a fun embellishment using some items from the Journey SFTIO kit and some bling you may have on hand.

And here is my layout :)
I love discovering new ways to make my embellishments work for me and I hope that I was able to inspire you to try thinking outside of the box.
Supplies used:

Using Digital Elements

Hello ladies. Nicole here with a few fun layouts. For my first layout I decided to go hybrid again. I love the Happy Travels digital collection; it's one of my all time favorite collections. After I completed the layout, I found it funny how much it looks like a fall layout, but it's really a summer layout :) This was a super quick and easy layout. I simply printed all of the digital whatnots and labels on plain cardstock, printed them out and cut them to use as my background papers.

Zva Creative: Flower
Zva Creative: Jewels
Jenni Bowlin: Butterfly Punch

And here is another layout where I used digital elements from the Happy Travels digital collection. I printed the transparancy swirl onto a letter  sized cardstock and used it as my base!  I am so impressed with the quality of my printer. You can hardly tell the difference from regular paper vs. digital.
