Missing my babies...

Hi everyone. I've spent most of the day creating layouts with the May "Carnival" kit from Clique Kits. It's no surprise that I love this kit because I LOVE Amy Tangerine's stuff. I love the bright colors in this kit. My layouts practically scrapped themselves because the kit was that awesome. :@)

Okay, I am over exaggerating a little, but really, this kit has so many possibilities. I am so glad that I bought the add-ons because they are awesome! If you're a subscriber, what add-ons did you purchase? I bought pretty much all of the add-ons and I am proud to say, I used all of it! I can't wait to share my projects with you this month.

Today, I am going to share a layout that was a little hard for me. I miss my dogs. Over the past few years, they had to be put down due to their health. My husband took this picture of me with the dogs over 6 years ago. I was about three months pregnant with Edward. I am so thankful for my love of photos... even though my babies are gone, I still have pictures of them. They will never be forgotten.

Although, this layout was hard for me... I had some fun with it! I played with my acrylic paint and new stencils! Love the floral stencils. They really helped make this layout pop. Wouldn't you say? Initially, I was going to include the chipboard alphas on this layout. I painted them green, but it just didn't look right so I used my stencils to write "Love" at the top.

Supplies: Cardstock: Patterned paper: Epoxy stickers: Washi tape: Rotary stamp: Chipboard heart: Stencil: American Crafts, Stamp: Ali Edwards, Daisy Brad: Chickaniddy Crafts, Ink: Clearsnap, Other: Paint.
Since I had quite a bit of scraps leftover from my kit after creating almost 5 layouts, I decided to use them for a fun border for my layout. This was super easy to do. Just cover the edges of the 8 1/2"x11" cardstock using washi tape and strips of patterned paper. It should look similar to this when you are finished. Once you have the base completed, simply trim another piece of white cardstock down to 8"x10 1/2" and adhere it to the middle of the base so that it makes everything look nice and even.
I used ink for my stencils and then I painted my kraft doily. It's been too lock since I've played with my paints. I may create another layout using paints. I have to figure out what I want to do.
Here's a close up of my cluster of embellisments. I love how this one turned out. There is a daisy brad at the very bottom of the layout. I accidently stamped something upside down and needed to cover it somehow! Yes, I make happy mistakes all of the time. :@)
Thanks for stopping by today! Please come again...

Ali Edward's Story Kits

Back in December, I seriously thought about joining Ali's Story Kits. I have always loved Ali's work and still do. She inspired me years ago to use my handwriting on my own layouts to tell my stories. Last week, I decided to take the plunge and sign up for both, the Story Kit and stamp kit. I really loved Ali's stamps from Technique Tuesday so I had to sign up for her stamps because I just know they will be awesome.

I signed up last Friday and already received the kit yesterday! Yay. I scrapped two project life layouts today. Back in January I decided to challenge myself to create one project life spread per month. I tried, but I can't do a monthly spread as planned... It intimidates me so I figured out what I am going to do from now going forward. I am going to create a page per month using "A" favorite photo or two and that's it! Then I will use a little journaling card to tell my story. Sounds easy right? We'll see how that works out. Ha.

I really like the packaging of the Kit. They are packaged in a vellum envelope. The packaging is nice and sturdy for easy storaging.

I love how this one turned out. The large wood veneer camera embellishment is the icing on the cake for me. I wish I had another one, but I have the digital files so I can cut more out using my Silhouette Portrait. Best gift ever.
Thanks for visiting today!

April Clique Kits Pep Rally

Hi everyone. Welcome to the April Pep Rally for Clique Kits! You should be arriving from Lacey's blog. In case you've gotten lost along the way, you start at the Clique Kits blog. I've had so much fun creating with the Happy Everything kit. This kit was chocked full of goodies. One of Clique Kit's biggest kit and I was lucky enough to receive one! The colors, patterns and embellishments makes me so happy. What about you? If you're not a current subscriber and wish to be one, get yourself on our wait list so you don't miss out on future kits!
I love all of the different patterns in this kit. You can probably tell by looking at my layouts. I couldn't decide on what patterns to use so I used them all! I've had this picture for a month now of Mischelle and I from when we went to see "Fifty Shades of Grey" and finally scrapped it. Love how this one turned out. We've been friends for 17 years now! A long time. I am pretty sure we'll grow old together!
I've created a few other layouts just in case you missed them this month up on the blog! I hope Pinkfresh Studio has another collection coming out soon because I think I've found another favorite manufacturer to add to my list!

Water color images

Hi friends. I've been scrapping! It's been a little over a month since I've been able to sit down and scrap. It's been crazy busy lately. Have you seen the free classes that Scrapbook.com has to offer? They are incredible! I just took a class on how to use my Gelatos. I've had these things for over a year now and I never know what to do with them! So I took the free class on how to create water color images using Gelatos, stamps and water! It was super easy to do and I am pleased with my first layout using this fun technique.

Products used: Cardstock: American Crafts, Cards: Die cuts: Tag: Fancy Pants Designs, Washi tape: Glitz Designs, Stamp: Ali Edwards, Enamel heart: Chickaniddy Crafts, Gelatos: Faber-Castell, Stamp: Hero Arts
How to:
1. Select a few different colors of the Gelatos you want to use.
2. Cover the entire stamp using desired colors. (Make sure you cover the entire surface).
3. Gently spray water all over the Gelatos to make it wet. (I did not have a water bottle so I used my pearl mist instead).
4. Then take your paper and place it over top of the stamp.
5. Press down all over the stamp using your paper without moving the paper.
6. Carefully, lift the paper and let it dry.

Thanks for stopping by today and hopefully, I've inspired you to take one of the free classes over at www.scrapbook.com!

A little misting

Hi friends! Today, I have another fun layout to share with you using the April Clique Kit. It's been awhile since I've pulled out my glimmer mist. I have several bottles of mist from when I designed for Tattered Angels, but rarely use them. And it's not because I don't love them, it's because I have them hidden from my five year old son and forget to pull them out since they aren't on my desk. I didn't go crazy with the mist on my layout. I decided to use it in small doses by simply unscrewing the cap and tapping the access mist onto my layout. Love how a little mist makes such a big difference on this layout. What do you think? Totally, easy and not intimidating to use. If you haven't tried experimenting with mist, try it. It can be addictive. Just don't go spraying your walls and everything in sight. Hehe. I even included some "faux stitching" as well.

Looking back

For the past few days, I've been adding labels to all of my blog posts so that my readers can find things more easily. It's been neat seeing older posts and I've also discovered that some of my posts were missing the photos. I am not sure what happened, so I just deleted them. Now my blog looks more organized! And I've also noticed that my blogging has gotten better over the years... I cannot believe the amount of posts that I just added photos with a sentence or two and called it done. I actually cringed... But I was new to blogging and I had no idea how it was suppose to be done. No wonder I didn't have many readers back then besides mom.

While I was cleaning my blog posts, I came across these photos from a few years ago... you know how you come across a certain photo and get a lump in your throat? Yea... well, that happened. I miss my fur babies... :( and I miss my baby... he has grown too fast!

In the photo below, Edward was feeding the dogs gold fish cracker. They were so good. They did not try and snatch them from him. They waited patiently for him to give them some. I think when I get a new printer, I will scrap this one... I've never scrapped it and I love it... (I threw my piece of shit printer away today). I never did like my HP printer... I loved my Cannon from a few years ago so I'm going back to Cannon! I found one on Amazon really cheap too.

LOVE. To this day, he has the best smile! And he still has Ty...

I really like this shot. He just looks so damn innocent here.

Precious. Paw Paw was Edward's buddy... He was put down when Edward was about one. I miss him so much, I have tears in my eyes right now thinking about him. He was such a great dog, but he was sick and he is in a better place... with Daisy.

Paw Paw was such a good sport... Edward was always pulling on his body parts and treating him like his personal horsey, but he never did bite him. He knew that Edward was a little guy.
Thanks for stopping by today! Maybe, I've inspired you to clean up your blogs and go back in time. :)

One fine day

Wow. Finally, we get what I call, a BEAUTIFUL day outside. Edward's friend Parker came today to spend the night. I figured, I'd better get them outside as much as possible today or else they'd drive me INSANE. The boys wanted to have a picnic at the park so we packed up around 10:40a.m. and headed out! Edward asked if I could take the top down and since we were only going a mile up the street, I agreed. Some people might frown upon two little ones in a convertible...
Edward totally set up the picnic... He grabbed the blanket, got it set up then came back for the food. He's such a sweetie... REALLY. He's gonna be a romantic,  just know it.

There was a baseball game going on. The boys watched them practice while we had lunch.
After we ate, the boys played at the park on the swings and slide for a bit.

After they were done, they wanted to take a walk on the trail, but I don't like going by myself... I have a fear of getting lost on the trails... It didn't take them long to get creative. They decided to build a ladder to get up on the big pile of cedar. They did this for a little over an hour! Edward was in his own little world. Parker went to the park and came back every now and then.

When we came home, we played outside for a little longer. Edward played with bubbles and Parker played with the Tonka truck. Edward said, "mommy,  love you" and gave me this dandy lion. Shortly after I snapped the photo Parker stepped on it. Sigh... BOYS. I was reminded today why I only have ONE child and I am very happy with just ONE.

Edward asked me to write his name in the street.

Such a cool shot. :@)

The boys are now watching  a movie quietly. I am thinking about having that glass of wine I've been needing all day!
