Playing with templates

Hello friends! Today, I have a fun layout using some goodies from the Clique Kits shop! I am in love with the fun paper packs by Becky Higgins. I decided to combine both paper packs, "Sweet Edition" and Everyday Edition" to create this fun layout. The bobby pin patterned paper is so neat!

I decided to play with my acrylic paint. It's been too long. I created a fun background for my layout using a template that I have from The Crafter's Workshop. I simply painted the template shape onto white cardstock and once it was dried, I hand-cut the patterned to use as a fun background for my photo.

Here are a few close-ups. I decided to play with my stamps too!  If you're a subscriber, be on the lookout for the transparency tags from Pretty Little Studio because they will be in the December kit! I cut mine in half so that I could tuck them behind my photo on both sides of the photo.

However, I decided to look up the instructions on Youtube to figure out how to do it. It was so much fun! If you have time one weekend, you should try it. I have instructions on my blog on how to make one. Just click here!

November Clique Kits Pep Rally

Hi everybody. It’s Nicole here, wishing you a fabulous Wednesday! Welcome to the November Pep Rally. This month, we hope to inspire you with the "Tapestry" kit. I've been wanting a kit with some primary colors for a long time. I am loving all the blue in this kit. Makes this girl happy since it's my FAVORITE color.

For our challenge this month, we went with an “Anything Goes" theme.

The Pep Rally, for those of you who are new to the Clique, is our monthly subscriber and design team blog share typically held the third week of the month and participants earn product credits-yes, free stuff to do what you love-who can beat that? It's out with the old, in with the new time at Clique Kits when we (hopefully) have all killed our kit from the previous month and have lots to show off, and we start to chat and hype the excitement for the coming month’s kit. In other words, we party! We don’t leave out our guests-there is always a prize for a hopper who comments on each post and likes and shares on social media! Just leave a new comment for each like and share for a separate entry in the random drawing for this month’s prize. One lucky person will win this month’s Capture kit that is sold out! Get the word out and have your friends join our Pep Rally because they might end up with this gorgeous kit at their doorsteps!

Here’s today’s line up:

Feel free to hop in any order, if you get lost, you can always come back here to find your place. This month, I thought it would be fun to create a monochromatic layout using different shades of blue to showcase my love of BLUE. I've been wanting to create an all blue layout for some time, but didn't have the right kit to do so until I received the November Kit. There is plenty of blue in this kit so I had no problem accomplishing my goal.

Now, hop along and see what our design team and subscribers have been working on. Don’t forget to check out the gallery on the website landing page featuring our Varsity Team (design team) projects using the November kit and check out the Monthly Kit page for all the details about next month’s amazing Clique Kit Girl Cave. Take care!

Clique Kit's December Mood Board

Happy Sunday everyone! Today, I've decided to take it easy. I am about to curl up on the couch and watch Cinderella since mom has Edward! Sure, the laundry and dishes are piling up and the bathrooms need to be cleaned, but this girl needs a break from everything. Everything can wait. But before I do that, I wanted to take a moment to share Clique Kit's December Mood Board. It's so delightful isn't it? Seriously, I could look at it all day.

Also, I wanted to let you know that we still have a few holiday kits available! Get yours here NOW before they sell out. I promise you, you won't regret it. I can't wait to get mine this Wednesday! Use NICOLE10 to save 10% on your shop purchases.

Geo Tags

Hello everyone. Happy Friday! Today, we are featuring Geo Tags on the Pretty Little Studio Blog. I must admit, I have such a hard time using Geo Tags. I am just not sure what to do with them. So, I literally sat at my desk, starring at the Geo Tags hoping that an idea would come to mind on how to use them without the Geo Tags looking out of place on my layout... And then I got the idea of using the Geo Tag to draw attention to the photo on my layout. The Geo Tag worked perfectly on this layout because it helped draw the eyes to the photo. Also, notice how I used the tiny Geo Tag at the bottom pointing to the stamped sentiment "love wins". I took this photo while I was at Edward's soccer game practice a few weeks ago. I looked up and noticed that he was holding hands with his friend Benjamin and quickly grabbed my camera. This layout totally melts my heart! These are the moments to document and treasure for a life-time.

Pretty Little Studio Products: Gold Mine Word Art Stickers in Copper Let's Go Journaling Panama 3x4 cards, Traveler Words, Let's Go: Vellum tape, Geo Tag stickers.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope I was able to inspire you with how I used Geo Tags on my layout.

Good times

Hi everyone. I am making progress on my Christmas shopping. I just ordered a bunch of stuff on Amazon and it started shipping to my work today. So exciting! Not much going on around here. It's been quiet. Hamlet has been getting more aggressive so we are trying to get him tamed. He's good, but he is just too aggressive and I really need to watch him around Edward. He tries to punch Pete and I, but he really pushes Edward around and I worry that he will hurt him. Sadly, if we cannot get Hamlet under control, we will need to find a farm or see if the breeder will take him back, but we will NOT put him down. We will see how it works out. My heart just breaks for Hamlet. I feel like I have Daisy in the house all over again. She didn't like anyone and would growl and snap at anyone who got close to her except for me. And it's the same way with Hamlet. He gets very territorial around me.

Anyway, that's what's going on in our house. I am feeling confident that we can get him under control. The crate has been working. He doesn't like it so when he goes in there, he knows it's because he's done something wrong. Right now, he he's sound asleep on the floor at my feet. He just enjoys being with me without anyone else around. I am his MOM.

Here's a fun layout that I created using some pieces from Pretty Little Studio's Merry and Bright collection with all kinds of scraps of embellishments I had on hand. I love this. This layout is just so happy!

Let's Get Lost

Hi friends! A few weeks ago, I went apple picking with my family at Larriland's. Who would have thought that picking apples would be so much fun. It was nice and relaxing and it helped ease my stress level being outdoors. I love this photo that my sister took of me picking apples. And I love how this layout turned out. It I totally me. It has my favorite colors, all in one layout; mustard yellow, blue and green with a touch of pink.

I cut the tag out from the paper and tied some string around the whole to add little home-spun look to my layout. Then I used a pen to add a little bit of journaling and since I didn't feel that I included enough journaling, I decided to use the word stickers to finish my story!

Thank you for visiting today. Please come again!

Using Those Scraps

Hi scrappers! Hope all is well. Today, I have a fun tip to share with you on how to use those scraps that you just can't seem to part with. I am guilty of this. I always think I'm going to use my scraps, but they just keep piling up. But, every now and then, I will use my scraps to create a fun border for my layout. Simply adhere different strips of patterned paper around the base of your layout, then cut another piece of paper slightly smaller than the base to make the edges look neat.

Also, I love how the tiny word stickers fit perfectly on the tabs!

Come Away with Me

Hi friends! I don't know about you, but I am loving the November Clique Kit. I love all the blue in this kit. Makes this girl happy since it's my favorite color. And I love the patterns in this collection. The possibilities are endless. I decided to play around with some stamping and fussy cutting on this layout. I received some exclusive stamps from Clique Kits to play with. They are so much fun! I love the boarder made from hearts and the "Have A Lovely Day" stamps. I stamped the sentimental stamp on my die cut car to use as my title on the layout. Then I cut two little flowers from the floral paper and adhered them to the tires on my die cut to make it pop.

I added some more stamps on my "Come Away with Me" journaling card. Once I started stamping, I wanted to stamp all over my layout, but I contained myself with just two images. :) Also, notice how I added the Hello sticker onto the journaling card? I love how a few stickers can do wonders for a layout.

Initially, I was going to Scrap my photos onto the floral paper without the grid paper, but felt it would be too much. I love how the graph paper makes such a difference on this layout.
