Building a sandcastle

Hi everyone. Hope you're having a great summer! I have a fun summer layout to share with you. Edward spent two hours on the beach one day building sandcastles and I enjoyed watching him. He's such a joy to have around. So easy to please.

I love the Papers in Pretty Little Studio's "You and Me" collection. It's such a pretty collection and I thought the papers would make a great summer layout. Since I had some flags from their "Island Treasure" collection, I decided to cut out the "building a sandcastle" flag to use as a sub title for my layout. Also, I am loving their Faux cork alpha die cuts! At first, I wasn't sure if I could work with the big alphas, but I am loving how they look on this layout! Totally fun. I added some embellishments and stamping from Ali Edwards Story Kit to complete the layout.

Supplies: Cardstock: American Crafts, Patterned Paper: Stickers: Die cut alphas: Flag: Pretty Little Studio, Washi tape: Freckled Fawn, Enamel dots: WRMK, Freckled Fawn, Chipboard: Stamps: Transparency: Ali Edwards, Circle punch: Stampin'Up, Pen: Marvy.

Life is a journey

One of my favorite things about Clique Kits is the Clique Kits exclusive cards that comes with the kits. I love Lacey's creativity. She is a genius with it comes to creating original flair badges, digital prints files, exclusive cards and cut files for the kits! I am hoping that one day I can take a few graphic design courses!

I'm not sure how I feel bout this layout. It was missing something, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it until I started blogging about it.. then I saw how it was balanced at all... So I decided to add two more cards to the left side of the layout and journal at the bottom to try and pull this layout together.

Here is my second take. I think I like this much better. Initially, I was going to just let the words on the cards do the talking for me, but they weren't enough. I needed MY words on the layout. Do you ever go back and add to a layout after letting it sit for the night?

My cuties

Good morning! I wanted to share another layout with you before I go away to the beach with these cuties! I've been on vacation all week and it has been nice to be able to do whatever I want for a change, like scrap all day. Most of the time, I don't have time to play with mixed media because I am too tired to put in the effort, but since I've had a great deal of time this week, I decided to play with my paints and gesso! Be on the lookout throughout the month for some fun stuff!

Just recently, I bought some new paint and a fun circle template from the Clique Kits store. I believe there are a few more templates left if you are interested. I just dabbed some paint over the template directly on the paper to alter the background a bit. Love how the touch of pink does so much for this layout.

Pretty Little Studio has a design team call out right now for two new designers. I really love their papers. They are unique and I love their graphic designs. I decided to try out for the team again. I tried a few years ago and since I actually had some papers and embellishments that I purchased from the Clique Kit store (I believe that there is still one left), I created two fun layouts for the call and a card. I will post the other layout in a few more days.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Labels: Stickers: Pretty Little Studio, Enamel Dots: WRMK, Freckled Fawn, Chipboard: Ali Edwards Story Kit, Paint dabber: Ranger: Stamp: Ali Edwards, Circle Template: Hero Arts, Circle Punch: Stampin'Up, Pen: Marvy, Mini stapler: Tim Holtz.

Moments like this

Happy hump day! I've been packing up for the beach. The little man and I are so excited. He is mainly excited about going to the Ocean City Board Walk to play video games. I am mainly excited to just get away for a few days!

This morning, after I went to Coffee Bean for my white chocolate mocha, I decided to use my left over scraps from my Pretty Little Studio papers and stickers to create this adorable layout. I wanted to pull some of the orange from the photo to make the layout pop so I grabbed my orange ink and a template to create this fun journaling block for my layout. I should have held off on submitting for the Pretty Little Studio call so I could include this layout. Oh well, here's hoping they like what I sent. They do have the cutest stuff! I am lucky enough that I was able to order some of their stuff from the Clique Kits store so that I could even submit to their call. And if I do not get picked up, I am still proud of my layouts that I made. I will have to visit their website to pick up some more of their "Treasure Island" collection. And I really cannot wait to see their new "Let's go" collection.

Supplies: Cardstock: American Crafts, Patterned Paper: Vellum: Stickers: Flags: Pretty Little Studio, Chipboard: Fancy Pants Designs, Enamel dots: WRMK, Freckled Fawn, Puffy stickers: Studio Calico, Chipboard star: Transparency star: Studio Calico, "Explore" stamp: Kesi'Art, Template: Crafter's Workshop, Ink: Clearsnap, Pen: Marvy, String: May Arts

Collect moments not things

I love this photo. The boys begged me to put the top down on my convertible so since we were only going about a mile up the road, I agreed. They are so fun... seriously. I love boys. I love only having one and having the opportunity to "borrow" another child when I need one for Edward's entertainment. haha. I love keeping Parker for the night or day and sending him home with his momma.

Here's another layout that I created using the June Clique Kits. Nothing fancy. I wanted the focus to be on the photo and our story!

Supplies: Patterned paper: Stickers: Crate Paper, Card: Clique Kits, Wood veneer: Maya Road.

Happy Friday everyone! I am so excited... I am officially on vacation and I don't have to go back to work until June 30th. Yay me. I need a break... I am exhausted. Time for me to relax and do nothing for a few days. I just received Ali's new Story Kits "GO" which will be perfect for scrapping my vacation pictures when I go to the beach for a few days next week. In the meantime, my son went to the beach with his aunties this week and just got back today. I snagged one of Aunt Jamie's photos from her Facebook page this week and scrapped this fun layout last night! I am sneaky like that. Oh, yea, and I still haven't given up on Project life... (scrapping a favorite photo or two each month). Aren't you impressed. I am. We are going on three months now.

I really love how this one turned out. Notice how I stamped "Go with the flow" in green on the side of the photo. I also stamped the little circle with the arrow in blue and cut it out using scissors.

Rocket boy

I don't have much to share today besides this adorable photo of a rocket boy... He's holding a giant rocket and the red is the rocket's smoke from when it darted all around the page. :) Love how creative my 5 year old is.

123 Go!

Hi friends. A few months ago, I took Edward and his friend Parker to the park. Edward saw this big hill of cedar and thought that it would be cool to make a ladder so he could get up the hill. Parker wanted to play at the park instead. Edward must have collected at least a hundred sticks of all sizes. He had the best time! He loves being outdoors. Always has, always will.

When I saw the June Clique Kit, I knew that I would use it for these photos. It's like a match made from heaven. I love the layers on this layout. This layout was not easy for me. I didn't like it initially so I started layering and layering more die cuts together to pull this layout together. The "explore" stamp is made by Kesi'Art. A stamp that I purchased from the Clique Kits store. I love it. :) I just started dabbling into stamping and LOVE it. I love how they fill in white space to add the right touch to help compliment the papers and embellishments.

Supplies: Patterned paper: Die cuts: Stickers: Crate Paper, Gold alphas: My Mind's Eye, Stamp: Kesi'Art.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Beach time

After I got home from work, Edward asked if we could go down to the beach for a little while. And since it was not too hot, I agreed. I normally don't go down there because the heat makes me sick, but it was actually nice out today! I grabbed a towel for Edward and I, his new beach toys, a book and my car keys and off we went. It didn't take Edward too long to bust out his new castle sand toys.

He worked on this castle for two hours. There were little kids around, trying to mess up his castle and he was getting so mad... he is my child... haha You just don't mess with us when we have our minds set on something.
I helped him with the sand castle and he decorated it. He also made the wall around the castle and the court yard.

Edward was here...

When I told him it was time to pick up his toys to go home, this is the look I got. He was very tempted to throw sand at me until I threatened to pull his pants down in front of everyone. He decided to throw it in the water instead.

But then he thought I was joking... until he saw my face... He stopped. Stinker!

As Mark would say, "It's good to be Edward!"

June 3, 2015

Hello everyone. For the past five years, I've been creating yearly layouts for Edward. I love doing these because later down the road, I can look back and read everything that he was into and I will be able to read the things he has said... He is growing so fast and I can't believe that he's five already! Here's my layout for year 5! You can see the previous years here all in one post.

Supplies: Cardstock: Stampin'Up, Patterned paper: Webster's Pages, Crate Paper, American Crafts, Chipboard frame: Freckled Fawn, Card: Acrylic "little things": Sticker words: Stamps: Ali Edwards, Foam stickers: Studio Calico, Sticker alphas: Chickaniddy Crafts, Ink: Stampin'Up.

Hi everyone! It's hard to believe that summer is almost here. I don't know how the weather's been in your neck of the woods, but it's been HOT here. Not sure if I should be complaining, considering the VERY cold winter we had. I just don't do well in the heat. I like the spring and fall.

With the start of a new month, comes a new kit by Clique Kits (Dream Quest) and this month's kit is filled with Lots of Crate Paper to scrapbook about your journeys. At first, I wasn't too sure about how I felt about this collection, but once I started scrapping with it, that changed. I just thought this collection was too themed... The foil sheets that came in this kit is awesome! You can cut them up however you please and use them on your layout.

One thing I can say is that I do not like "not" journaling on my layouts. I realized after I designed this layout that I didn't leave much room for journaling... so I journaled on my photo. It's barely visible, but if you zoom in, you can read it!

Supplies: Patterned paper: Die cuts: Transparency: Stickers: Crate Paper, Flair: Clique Kits.
