Jess and Toby

Hello everyone. Today, we are featuring our Word Stickers up on the blog today. These little word stickers are a favorite of mine. I love using them to help tell my story. For this layout, I decided to play with the word stickers a bit. I used them on my tab and between my two darling kitties with a few hearts. What do you think? I love how it looks.

Top 12 Moments of 2016

Hello everyone. I finally scrapped my top 12 moments of 2016 or should I say, my family's top 12 moments. I used Ali Edwards' Review and Surprise story kit. These kits have been sitting on my desk for a week now so I figured since I was off, I'd scrap my layout. The hardest part of this layout was choosing just 12 photos from the year. I used PicMonkey to create a collage. After I created the collage, I used the same program to add my text to the right of the photo since I am low on alphas. Then printed it on a letter size photo paper and trimmed the edges.

My scrapbooking goal for 2017 is to incorporate more story telling on my layouts. Not just slap a few pretty photos, stickers and die cuts on paper and call it done. I do an okay job with this right now, but I want to do more of it. You know what I mean? So I subscribed to Ali Edwards' story kit again. I subscribed in 2015 and took a year off because her kits didn't get used, but this year, I am determined to take advantage of her lessons and dig deeper with my journaling to tell my stories.

You're My Fave

Hi everyone. I have a fun layout to share with you today using the Printables from the January Clique Kit. For the past few months, I've been printing the printables and cutting them before I dig into my kit so I don't forget to use them. These printables are great embellishment fillers. My favorites include the tags and banners.

I didn't plan on making this layout so busy...It was supposed to be simple, but I wanted to use some of my embellishments in my stash that I haven't used in a while and once I started adding stuff, I couldn't stop. I stapled the banners at the top right-side of my photo then added the flair. I plucked one of the heart enamels from the button to add to the center of my flair. The little heart puffy stickers are so cute... I added them to the center flowers at the top of the layout.

I cut the number two from the Bella Blvd. that came in the December kit to add as an embellishment with the "laugh" word label from the printables. I used scissors to make the label smaller than I cut the little "v" to make it look like a banner.

Products Used: Patterned Paper: Crate Paper, Bella Blvd,. Enamel Sticker Words: Fancy Pants Designs, Flair: Printables: Word Stickers: Clique Kits, Puffy heart stickers: Crate Paper, Clip: Bella Blvd., Star/Camera Puffy stickers: Label: Elle's Studio, Gold Banner Sticker: We R Memory Keepers.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope I inspired you to use those printables that comes with your kit this month!

Trust your instincts

Happy Sunday all! Today, I am sharing my very first Bible page. I LOVE seeing what others do with Bible pages and I've been wanting to give it a try for awhile now. For my page, I used several shades of acrylic paints and lots of stamps. I finally got the chance to pull out my butterflies and floral stamps.

I used a good amount of stickers and die cuts on my pages too. And stencils. Seriously, I had such a great time altering this page and tag.

What do you think? Think you're ready to give it a try. I plan on doing several pages using inspirational quotes that I've found on Pinterest.

Today, Tomorrow, Always

Today, I am sharing a layout I created this morning just for time. I woke up early and felt like scrapping, but didn't really want to work on any assignments. I just wanted to scrap whatever I wanted, using whatever I wanted so I pulled out Jillibean Soup's Cold Avocado Soup collection that I've been hoarding to use with the right photos. I bought this collection because I LOVE blue and green. They are my favorite colors and as you can see from the photo, Edward's favorite too.

I've been eyeing up the 9x11 albums for some time now. I wasn't sure if I'd like the size or not, but I love it! This is my very first 9x11 layout I've ever created. Normally, I scap 8 1/2x11, but sometimes, this size is a little tricky to scrap with, especially if I am using a 4x6 photo. So, it looks like I'll be buying some 9x11 albums and I'll be scrapping this size for 2017.

I can't wait to get a WRMK typewriter so I can type on my layouts to make my journaling smaller and more visible...

Products: Patterend Paper: Vellum Tags, Stickers: Die Cuts: Stamps: Epoxy Stickers: Jillibean Soup, Enamel Dots: Roller stamp (date): Pebbles Inc., Chipboard arrow: Ali Edwards Designs, Other: Gluedots, Foam Squares and pen.

Notice how I decorated the center of the spiral circles with random enamel dots? I love how playful this layout looks.

Decorating and then some...

All year, Edward has been telling me he wanted to re-decorate his room because he no longer likes Ninja Turtles. I told him up front that I was not painting his room again... He agreed to keep the walls green and this summer, I'll paint the orange doors and frames blue. We are going with a Minecraft/Terraria theme. His room is going to look so good when I'm done! I am just waiting on  a few posters to arrive and I have one more shelf to put together. I love this duvet cover I bough from Ikea! It looks so good with the green walls.

Jessica hasn't been feeling too good. She's hanging in there... And she has been spending more time with Edward. He loves when she just goes in his room to hang out. Precious! I don't know about you, but every night is a BATTLE to get my son to do his homework. I snapped this photo the other night. Edward was doing his homework and Jess was lying there, completely content.

I haven't put up the tree yet... I am scared that the kitties are going to knock it over. I am testing them with the small tree I bought Edward for his room. Disregard the lights on the tree. Edward brought it to my attention that it was missing lights. That boy never misses a thing... he pays attention to the smallest details. I am not sure whether to be proud of that fact or annoyed. LOL

I love that this tree totally looks like Charlie Brown's tree. HAHA. I bought Troll ornaments for the tree and Edward placed some of his transformers on the tree. By the way, the cats are failing miserably. This little tree was knocked down three times in just one day. They are learning... Maybe, by Sunday, I can put the big tree up.

My mom gave Edward this adorable little Village a few years ago. He loves it. Amazingly, it is all in one place. Some of the houses got chipped a little, but overall, they still look great!

Happy Holidays!

December 12, 2016

Happy Monday everybody. Today, I am sharing a quick and easy layout. I used several pieces of scraps to frame the photos. Once I adhered the scraps and photos to the base of my layout, then I added the Bella Blvd tabs. What do you think of the sticker words this month? I love them. They look great on tabs. I also loved playing with the exclusive stickers and the camera flair is my favorite! LOVE.

I felt weird not journaling on this layout but I was worried the journaling would get lost in the patterns so I let the word stickers tell my story.

Hello everyone. Are you getting ready for the holidays? All done shopping? Ready to scrap those holiday/snow pictures? If so, I have a fun layout to share with you using Pretty Little Studio's Holly Jolly collection. I really like the patterns in this collection. I especially love the Christmas Dinner patterned paper. It's my favorite! I love these pictures of Edward building a snowman last winter. He has the funniest expressions.

I used the Frosty digital cut file from Just Nick's Studio. This month, she is hosting a 12 days of cut files for free. Grab Frosty today!

Moments like this...

Hi everybody. Nicole here with a fun layout I created using Clique Kit's "Wonderland" kit. I've been wanting to use the pin wheel digital cut file from Just Nick Studio's shop for awhile, but never knew how I wanted to use it on my layout until I received this month's kit. I love the bright colors in this kit. It makes me so HAPPY. :) I needed something to feel happy about after a rough Monday at work. So after I came home and fixed Edward dinner, I scrapped this layout. Once I matted my patterned paper with the digital cut file that I cut on white cardstock, the layout came together pretty quickly.

For fun, I added the enamel dots to the center of the pin wheels to make them pop. Doesn't it look so cool? I did my best to match the enamel dots with the background patterns so that the two blended together nicely.

I used several die cuts and a piece of transparency to help frame my photo. The adorable sticker words were apart of the Swan Lake kit. Love them!

Life is beautiful with you

Hello everyone. HAPPY FRIDAY! Today, I am sharing another layout I created using Clique Kit's December "Wonderland" kit. I am a sucker for die cuts and tags/tabs. I just love how they can add so much more details to the layout. I used a watercolor marker to color the leaf tab at the top of my photo and then I added some ribbon and word stickers to a few of the other tags/tabs. This goes to show, a little embellishments can go a long way. I wanted to keep this layout pretty simple to keep the main focus on my adorable son and I.

Supplies: Patterned Pape: Pink Paislee, Journaling Cards, Word stickers: Die cut tab and tag (pink and black and white polka dot): Clique Kits, Tabs/Arrow: Bella Blvd, Ribbon: May Arts
Here are a few close-ups:

I hand-cut the butterfly and heart from patterned paper and used a foam square to make them pop off the page a bit. I used a black ink pad to dab around the heart to add more color and dimension to the layout.

Hello everyone. I have a fun photo booth layout to share with you today. I am not sure why, but I always have a difficult time scrapping these. So for this layout, I decided to keep it pretty simple. I would normally scan and print photo booth pictures in black and white since it's easier to scrap them that way, but for this layout, I decided to draw three of the main colors from the photo which are blue, red and a little bit of green. Once I had my colors picked out, I went through my stickers and scraps to find bits and pieces of embellishments and paper that would go well with my photo strip. I found a good amount of product in my stash from four different collections! And best of all, I think it looks great! Love when that happens.

Next time you aren't quite sure where to start with you layout, try going through your stickers and scraps on first before cutting into something new!

Watercolor cirlces

Hi all. I've been playing with Pretty Little Studio's Summer Vibes collection again. Initially, I did not plan on creating a summer layout, but I love the "summer" acrylic so I couldn't help myself. Before I embellished this layout, I used Shimmerz Paints and a mason jar lid to create a fun background for my layout.

After I finished tracing the circles using my watercolor paints, I gently tapped on the brush to add a little splash of blue and pink. Then I added a few clear star stickers. LOVE!
dsc_3584 Once the paint was dry, I added my embellishments and photo. Isn't this such a fun design? Totally easy to do!
Here are a few closer shots of my layout:
Thanks for stopping by today! So, are you ready to try experimenting with watercolor paints?
