Best Day

Happy Monday all! I don't have much going on to share, but I do have a new layout that I created using the February Clique Kit. This kit is too pretty for words. For this layout, I decided to play with my acrylic paints and some of my Tattered Angels paint! I love that acrylic paint dries pretty fast if you apply it lightly, scraping off the excess.

Supplies: Patterned Paper, Die cuts: Stickers: Crate Paper, Epoxy heart: Freckled Fawn, Acrylic Paint: Doily: Studio Calico.
To achieve the same painted look, simply apply several little dots of paint in three different shades onto your cardstock.
Then use a plastic card to scrape the paint from top to bottom of the paper.

If you wait a few minutes for the paint to dry, you'll get these little dots in the background which I like.

And here are a few close-ups:

I decided to apply a few layers of paint onto my die cut flower.

Gold Mine

Hello everyone. Happy Friday! Today, we are featuring products from the Gold Mine. I love how much prettier my projects look with just a touch of gold! The Wishes paper is my absolute favorite. I've used it on a few of my projects already and have some more on my wish list since I am down to 1 sheet. I am thankful that I ordered some of the World Script in Gold to go with this paper! Normally, I am not a gold person in real life. I prefer white gold, but I love the look of yellow gold on my layouts!

Playing with Sketch Pens

Hi everyone. This is my first post for Just Nick's blog and I am so excited to be here. I've owned a Portrait for two years now and I am hoping to use it more this year! I love how versatile the Silhouette Portrait is. There are so many things you can do with this cool little machine if you're willing to try new things.

When I found out that I made the team, I ordered two new mats and some sketch pens. I've been wanting to try the sketch pens for some time now, but thought it would be too complicated. Little did I know how simple these pens are to use. Really. All I had to do was pop the blade out, insert my sketch pen and tighten the grip. Then I just changed the setting to "sketch pen" and I was done. So easy.

I decided to play with the Rosette Background. I thought it would be perfect with this photo that my five year old took of me at the park just a few weeks ago. Also, I used my January "Alegria" Clique Kit. I love this kit so much!

Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics, Patterned Paper: Stickers: Die Cuts: Fancy Pants Designs, Flair: Clique Kits: Digital Cut File: Justnick Digital Cut Files, Sketch Pens: Silhouette of America.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope I was able to inspire you to give sketch pens a try!

Do you wanna build a snowman?

This morning, Edward and I got up and headed to the grocery store at 11:30am thinking that it would be a good time. I was thinking that most people would try to go to the grocery store AFTER work. I was wrong. They all had the same idea I had. Get it done early. It was okay because Edward was pretty good so it helped speed things along. I think I spent more than I would have spent if I had left him home, but I had no choice. There was more junk that ended up in our cart than food. NEVER, EVER, GO TO THE STORE HUNGRY. I know better. Oh well. Looks like I will be going back for real food without the little man.

When we got back, I unloaded the junk food and we went outside. I needed some fresh air after being cooped up in the house for 6 days. I even went to my favorite coffee shop for a White Chocolate Mocha. It tasted like heaven. I haven't had coffee in 5 days!! I ran out and it was rough.

It felt great being outside for an hour. I started making my "sad" little snowman. Edward was not impressed with mine, but I wasn't impressed with his little snowmen either. So we are even. hahahaha. Here are a few shots I took. The snow is finally melting away, but it is the perfect snow for snowballs and building a snowman. I needed to get a few snowman pictures so I can scrap them with a new upcoming winter collection from Pretty Little Studio! Be on the lookout for a few layouts using the new collection in March.

Isn't he the cutest!?

Hello! I just want to take a minute to share this fun layout that I created using the February "Hot Mess" Clique Kit. Can you tell how much I love the color yellow? I tend to use greens, blues and yellows on my layout whenever I can.

While at CHA, I got to meet this fabulous chic. I love Ali Edwards and I have always been a fan of her work. I have all of her idea books from Creating Keepsakes sitting on my shelf. Every now and then, I will go through them to get journaling ideas and prompts. She is such a great story teller and I love all of the details she includes in her writing.

When I spotted Ali, I wanted to get a photography, but I was too nervous to ask. Gia, was like go... and I was like, "I am nervous". LOL. So I got the courage and walked up to her and stood next to her and said, "hey". And then she bumped me on my arm and said, "How's it going?" She made it so easy... and that was that. Her booth was busy so I didn't get the chance to talk to her much, but hey, I got my picture and it's hanging up above my scrapbook desk!

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Die Cuts: Crate Paper, Mini stapler: Tim Holtz.

Hello everyone! There's a blizzard happening out there and guess what I'm doing? Yep, I am scrapping up a storm. Why not? So if you're looking for me, I'll be in my little girl cave all weekend. hehe. Here's a layout that I created last night using Bella Blvd.'s "Family Frenzy". This is such a cute family collection. I love the patterns, especially the puzzle piece cut out.

Hello everyone. I hope that your New Year has been off to a great start. I can't complain too much. So far, 2016 has been wonderful! I got to go to CHA with the Clique Kit girls and it was such a blast. I am so honored that the girls asked me to go. It's something that I've always wanted to do! Who wouldn't, right?!

Here's a simple layout that I created using the fabulous mist that came with the February "Hot Mess" kit. I love how vibrant the yellow is against the white cardstock. It's so pretty. Also, I really like the acetate paper that came with the kit. The circles are so much fun. Once my mist was dry, I cut the acetate paper and stapled it to the cardstock so that the yellow peaked through.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you have a fantastic day.

You are amazing

Hello everyone. Today, I have an easy, but fun tip to share with you. One of my favorite things to do is recycle so for this layout, I decided to use the packaging from my basics pack of paper from the "Merry And Bright" collection as my background. Then I matted my photo using different patterns of paper to add some dimension to my layout. This was a super quick layout to create!
