Is the spring coming?

Hello friends! Edward and I had a great day yesterday. We went bowling. He loves it and had a blast. After we bowled, I took him to Sweetfrogs for frozen yogurt. As usual, he decided to add a little yogurt with a lot of candy. LOL. Then we went to the bridge near mommy's work so he could watch the turtles and lizards. We had such a great time together. On the way home, Edward said, "maybe we can have another fun day sometime?" Absolutely! Before we came home, I noticed a rash on Edward's neck. It looks like he got poison ivy while we were at the park this past weekend... so I stopped at the store and bought him some ointment for it.

While Edward played on his computer, I scrapped this layout. I took this candid shot with my cell phone while we were at the park the other day. I just LOVE it! And Pinkfresh Studio's "Felicity" collection goes perfectly with the photo. What do you think? I love when that happens! We still have some of the Felicity collection in the Clique Kits Shop if you are interested. Use NICOLE10 to save 10% on your order. Click here!

I really love the sentimental die cuts in this collection. So sweet and perfect!

Pinterest Inspiration: Hello

Pinterest Inspiration

Hello everyone. Today, I am going to share a layout in which I used this photo from Pinterest to inspire me. I decided to use lots of florals and vellum paper on my layout. I love vellum paper because it gives the layout a very soft, serene look. I need to pull out my vellum papers out more often. Notice how the vellum looks so much more softer than the paper? I simply backed the vellum up with white cardstock. This paper is so pretty. I am normally not a flower person, but these florals are gorgeous. I also used some vellum paper to create a border for my photo collage.

Also, notice how I cut the sticker flowers from paper and layered them together using foam squares. It helps add a little dimension so that the layout doesn't look too flat. You can simply do the same thing by cutting patterns from the floral paper if you have extra pieces on hand. Either one works fine.

Playing with Vellum Paper

Hello everyone. Today, we are featuring vellum on the blog. I love vellum paper because it gives the layout a very soft, serene look. I need to pull out my vellum papers out more often. Notice how the vellum looks so much more softer than the paper? My favorite way to use vellum is by punching shapes out from vellum and using them as die cuts on my layouts.

I decided to scrapbook another photo from about six years ago. We were celebrating my best friend Mischelle's birthday. And it was the first time I've been out since being preggers and just having Edward! We had such a great time too. CC made fun of my outfit. Said I looked too professional, but in reality, my entire wardrobe looks like this because I spend more time at work than I do at home. And I rarely get the time to go out these days, so why bother buying outfits I will not wear. Can you tell I am a mom? I know my readers are shaking their heads and can relate. Cheers to us moms. We have a tough job, but we must remember to spend time with our friends every now and then if we want to keep our sanity.

This layout came out to be a surprise. Initially, I had planned on having the squares at the top with just a photo and sticker. I was going to keep it simple, but then I kept adding stuff. Hence, the embellishments are sooooo fun! I couldn't help myself.

I used my star punch by Epiphany Crafts to punch little stars out of vellum paper. I adhered the stars to the layout using glue dots. And since the glue dots peeked through the vellum a little bit, I covered them with sequins.

April Clique Kits Blog Share

Hi everybody. It’s Nicole here, wishing you a fabulous Wednesday! Welcome to the April Pep Rally. This month, we hope to inspire you with the "Origins" kit. I am loving all the fun Simple Stories goodies in this month's kit and the entire pack of enamel hearts by Bella Blvd. A girl can never have too many enamel hearts. What a treat!

For our challenge this month, we challenged everyone to use circles on their projects. I love circles and they look great on layouts!

The Pep Rally, for those of you who are new to the Clique, is our monthly subscriber and design team blog share typically held the third week of the month and participants earn product credits-yes, free stuff to do what you love-who can beat that? It's out with the old, in with the new time at Clique Kits when we (hopefully) have all killed our kit from the previous month and have lots to show off, and we start to chat and hype the excitement for the coming month’s kit. In other words, we party! We don’t leave out our guests-there is always a prize for a hopper who comments on each post and likes and shares on social media! Just leave a new comment for each like and share for a separate entry in the random drawing for this month’s prize. One lucky person will win this month’s Origin's kit! Get the word out and have your friends join our Pep Rally because they might end up with this gorgeous kit at their doorsteps!

Hello everyone. Do you ever just sit down and go through your older photos? I rarely get the time to do this, but recently while I was uploading some photos to my thumb drive to delete photos from my computer, I came across this photo from over ten years ago. It's one of my favorites and I really should frame it, but for today, I decided to scrap it.

I used the Butterfly Background from Just Nick Studio's shop and Pretty Little Studio's Here + There collection to create a fun, whimsical background for my layout. I wanted to keep this layout pretty simple so that the main focus was my photo. As you can see, patterned paper can go a long way and make such an impact on your projects when using digital cut files.
For my photo corners, I cut a 3"x3" square in half diagonally to use as photo corners for my layout. I adhered the camera sticker to cardstock then cut it out using stickers and attached it to my layout using a foam square to make it pop off the page a bit. And since I was low on die cuts, I used digital cut files with products I had on hand (paper), rather than make another quick purchase for my layout.

This is real

Hi all. It's not often that I catch these two together in a photo, but I was determined to get a decent picture of these two. It's not perfect. Notice how Edward is holding bubbles in his hands. It's the only way I can get him to cooperate for a photo or two.  Hey, I do whatever it takes to get some photos in my house. haha

I decided to play with my Clique Kit again. I must admit, at first I wasn't sure how I felt about this collection by Simple Stories. The colors seemed too dark, but after playing with it a bit, I LOVE it. This collection looks so good. And the embellishments are perfect for scrapbooking everyday moments. Can you tell, I love layering papers and embellishments? I had a hard time, not over-doing it with this layout. I just wanted to keep piling the embellishments on.

Initially, I didn't add the triangles and paper strip at the top, but I felt like the layout was missing something at the top so I played around with it for a bit.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Stickers: Enamel Dots: Die cuts: Chipboard: Simple Stories, Mist: Memories.

Hanging Out

Hello everyone. Just recently, my grandmother treated Edward and I too the circus for his 6th birthday present. I love benefiting from Edward's gifts. :) I really thought he'd enjoy it. I remember loving the circus as a kid, but Edward didn't enjoy it as much as I did as a kid. The first half, he had no interest and I wonder if it was because of the clowns. He is not a big fan of clowns, but he came around during the second half when they had elephants, bikes and tigers.

I was going to include some circus pictures, but since I wanted to use a big title, I opted to just use one photo of the three of us. I know this is an older collection from Pretty Little Studio, but I have yet to play with this adorable collection so I decided to use some of my goodies I had on hand. Gotta love that monkey flair! There is a good amount of this collection on sale in the Pretty Little Studio shop in case you were interested! Click here.

Real Life

Hi everyone! I am so excited to finally share my projects with you using lots of Pinkfresh Studio's Life Noted collection. What a perfect collection to go with scrapbooking those everyday moments.
I couldn't just create one layout using this kit so I created a few, but I will share two of them with you today! I used a few cut files from Just Nick's Shop to complete the layouts. I can't get enough of the scalloped edge strips and Live Love cut files. What do you think?
The embellishments in this collection is so fabulous, I couldn't help myself. I had to use them all. And I had some of the stamps so I used those as well. The stamps were the perfect size for filling in small spaces.

Here are a few close-ups of this layout:
And here is my second layout. I normally do not scrap free-style, but this one practically scrapped itself with the adorable transparency words! I LOVE THEM.
A few close-ups:

OK, I might as well share the last one I created too! The one thing I love about Pinkfresh Studio's Life Noted collection is that you get two of each sheets of patterned paper! I still have lots of paper left to scrap.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope I was able to inspire you in some way today.
