Imaginary Animals

A few weeks ago, I went to pull out Edward's school work for the day and came across this drawing. At first glance, I couldn't tell what it was supposed to be. But today when I was cleaning the kitchen table, I came across this drawing and decided to look closely. And what I saw brought a smile to my face. Two animals... So I casually asked Edward what it was and he told me, it was a picture of "imaginary animals." LOVE THAT! He proceeded to tell me it was a mommy and a baby. How cute!? Being the awesome mom that I am, I framed it and hung it up in the hall across from his Kindergarten picture that he drew last year.

Do you see what I see?

It's the little things in life

Hi everyone. I am so excited to finally start sharing some projects I made with the October Clique Kit. I love this kit. What a beautiful color palette. As soon as I saw some of the patterns in this kit, I knew exactly what photo I'd use. The colors in the photo really makes this layout pop.

This precious bundle of joy is NOT mine. My friend Kelly had him on the 1st of September and I was sooooo good. I waited two full weeks before I asked when I could visit. I even took a few photos of this handsome little guy so she could use them for the baby announcement. It was a win-win for all. And I got to hold him for three hours while Edward played with Parker. :)

Products: Patterned Paper: Stickers: Die cuts: Chipboard: Stamp: Pinkfresh Studio, Journaling cards: Clique Kits.
I decided to use the adorable "Believe in Magic" stamp for my title on the journaling card.

*Donna Espiritu

Sandy Gonzalez
*Elisabetta Margini
*Aliza Deutsch

I love the patterns and colors in this kit and had a blast making layouts with it. This month, I created 6 layouts using this kit and I still have a few scraps to spare! Notice on this layout how I cut the circle patterned paper? Since I wanted to include part of the shape on my layout and it was too big, I just cut the outer circle off! Then I used pop dots to adhere the paper to the base of my layout.

The star and photo corner were hand-cut from different patterns of paper from this month's kit and the chevrons was hand-cut from one of the journaling cards! I like to get creative with my kits... there is no wrong way of using it. Do whatever your heart desires! Also, I cut the sentiment at the bottom of the paper from one of the papers and used it at the very bottom of the layout to kind of tie it together. And of course I had to use the yellow flair that came with the kit!

Supplies: Cardstock: Stampin'Up, Patterned Paper: Kaisercraft, Clique Kits, Journaling cards: Kesi'Art, Clique kits, Flair: Clique Kits, Chipboard: American Crafts, Puffy stickers: Fancy Pants Designs, Stamp: Precious Remembrance Shop.

Here are a few close-ups of my layout. Lots of little details on this layout.

What do you think? Are you ready to break into your kit if you haven't done so already? I must admit, it didn't sit on my desk very long. LOL. I was immediately inspired to scrap a few layouts with this gorgeous kit. Your next stop is Marcia!

Thanks so much for joining us today!

Hello all. Today I have a fun layout to share with you using the Ink Splats cut file. I created this layout awhile ago and just realized that I never shared it on the blog. I think it's because I added the red transparency sheet behind the layout and just forgot about it! I totally want to share this fun layout though... This layout was super fun to make. I simply cut the splats on white cardstock and used it as a template for my layout. Then I grabbed a brush and some paint and went to town. Once the paint was dry, I used lots of chipboard, puffy stickers, stickers and stamps to complete my layout. :) What do you think? Isn't it fun. Makes me want to pull out my paint again.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Transparency: Stickers: Enamel Dots: Bella Blvd. Puffy Stickers: Fancy Pants Design, Stamps: Ali Edwards Design, Ink Splat Cut file: Just Nick Studio.

Choose Happy

Have you seen the newest Simple Stories collection, Posh? I love the color palette of this collection. It's so pretty. I love the cut-apart cards paper. And the hint of silver metallic on some of the papers. Brilliant! Erica, from Clique Kits surprised me with some of this collection in my box that arrived with the October Clique Kit! Love when that happens. :) There's still a few pieces of the Reset Girl collection in the Clique Kit Shop if you're interested. And you can save 10% by using NICOLE10 in the coupon code section prior to checking out.

For this layout, I used a sketch that Kristine Davidson from Creative Scrappers created for their September challenge. I love this photo that my husband took of Edward and I by the river this weekend. My son even asked to have this photo taken! I didn't even have to bribe or threaten him for this photo. LOL

I stuck with the sketch with the exception of the stars. I decided to add a few hearts instead. Love the circles in the background. This is such a fun sketch. And I scrapped an 8 1/2x11" layout, rather than a 12x12.

Products: Patterned Paper: Die-Cuts: Stamp: Enamel Dot: Veneer: Simple Stories, Sticker words: Pretty Little Studio, Ink: Prima, Hero Arts.

I love this little cluster of die cuts and enamel dots with the stamping and hand-journaling.

I used a roller stamp that had the zig-zag to create a faux stitching effect.

Fun Night

Hello all. Last night, we had a fun night. We spent a few hours down at the beach with some friends. Grilled burgers, had a few drinks and let the kids play.

I took this opportunity to get a few photos of Edward and Pete. I do not take enough pictures of these two. Never mind the fact that Edward is wearing a winter sweater in September. He LOVES this sweater.

Of course had to get a few shots of me and my little man. Actually, Edward wanted to get a picture with his mommy. That would be a first! I'll take it!

After we spent some time down the beach, Angela, Brian, Pete and I decided to take the kiddies to the fair! The kids were beyond excited. The things we do for our darling children. Even after a long week at work... Poor Edward could only get on rides for kids 42" tall. He needed to be 48" to get on the rides that Sydney wanted to get on. :( He has a lot of growing to do! My poor little guy.

Thanks for stopping by my blog to visit today!

Hi all! I don't know about you, but I LOVE fall. It's my favorite time of the year. I love the fresh cool air and watching the leaves turn. My street is so pretty in the fall with all the trees. For this layout, I used Pretty Little Studio's "Woodland" collection. It's perfect for scrapbooking those fall memories! I really love the design of this layout and those frames! Swoon. What's your favorite part of this lovely collection?

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Stickers: Die-Cut frames: Cut-Aparts: Pretty Little Studio.

Clique Kits and Stuck Sketches Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stuck Sketches and Clique Kits Blog Hop! Stuck Sketches is celebrating their 3rd Anniversary with a fun blog hop filled with lots of prizes! Grab a cup of coffee or beverage and join us on this fun hop filled with tons of inspiration. You should be arriving from Danie's blog. In case you get lost along the way, feel free to start at the beginning. Today's sketch is a fun one. I really like the different strips of patterns on this sketch with the center collage.

Here is my take on the sketch. I kept it pretty simple, focusing on the photo with a few embellishments here and there. I hand-cut the chevrons from journaling cards to create my own die cuts. The circle was hand-cut from patterned paper. I love how the half circle frames the layout nicely; it kind of makes the layout pop.

Products: Patterned Paper: Webster's Pages, Kesi'Art, Kaisercraft, Journaling Card: Clique Kits, Chipboard: American Crafts, Die cuts: Sticker words: Pretty Little Studio, Puffy stickers: Fancy Pants Designs, Stamp: Word sticker: Ali Edwards.
