Happy Friday everybody! I have been using Heather's "Summer Vibe" collection all month long. I just love how bright and fun this collection is. A few weeks ago I went to pick Edward up from school and as few minutes after he got into the truck, he says, "hey mommy, do I look cool?" and when I looked over, this is what I saw. Not only is he rocking the shades, but he is as bright as a lime. LOL. It's no wonder why I decided to use the Summer Vibes collection for this photo. The bright colors made it so easy to scrap this adorable photo.

For the background, I used a few tags and punched some circles from the packaging and journaling cards. I basically used a good amount of scraps from this collection since I don't like throwing anything away! For the top of the layout, I punched several circles and cut them in half to create a fun border at the top. Then I used a black pen and ruler to add a half inch border at the bottom half of the layout.

I used some cut-apart labels and flag banners to help tell my story and a few stamps and mini stickers words inside of the labels.

Dear Edward

Hello scrappers! Nicole here, with a layout that tells a story in a unique way. I was inspired by Ali Edwards to create a layout that includes a letter to a loved one. Naturally, I chose to write a letter to my son, Edward. I've actually been thinking about doing this for sometime now and then I saw what Ali did and I just started typing a letter to Edward one night. I wasn't exactly sure what to write, so I just typed what came to my mind. I used the March "Play" Clique Kit with some items I had in my stash for this layout. And a few add-ons from the shop!
I seriously love how playful this kit is. It's so pretty with all the different colors. My favorite part of the kit besides the patterned papers are the die cuts. There's pretty much something in here for every scrapbooker. This kit is perfect for scrapbooking those Spring layouts, but it also includes other patterns and die cuts to work for little boys.
I realized after I was finished scrapping this layout that the picture is a little blurry, but that's okay because my main focus of the layout was the journaling. While I was adding the embellishments, I realized the "love you" just above mommy was smeared so I grabbed the "love you" sticker. Totally an accident, but a happy one because I think it looks great.
I decided to use the "unbreakable bond" cork at the top of the layout to help pull this layout together. This is something I added from my stash.

Pinterest Inspiration

Hello everyone. What do you think about this Pinterest Inspiration. As soon as I saw it, I immediately thought of the "You & Me" collection mixed with the "Here Comes the Sun" collection. For this layout, I decided to use lots of teal, pink and white. I know, this is unusual for me. LOL. Too much pink to my liking, but I like how this one turned out.

I had a cut file from Just Nick's Studio that I never used because I did not like the color of the patterned paper so I decided to ink it up and use it on this layout!

For the title, I used the clear stickers from the "Wonderland" collection. And a few die cuts from Heather's "Summer Vibes" collection. I had to add another color other than teal, one and pink. LOL. It was too much.

I decided to add a Geo sticker from the "Let's Go Travel" and some cut-aparts from the "You & Me" collection to pull the top right-side of the layout together.

I hope I was able to inspire you to mix and match your Pretty Little Studio stash so they don't go unused!

Hi scrappers! Today, I hope to inspire you with another layout using Just Nick Studio's digital cut file and Clique Kit's February kit. I love working with digital backgrounds and the heart background really caught my eye. I used lime cardstock to really make the cut file pop off the page. This layout was super simple to make. I just layered some patterned paper together for the base, cut the image from my Silhouette Portrait, added some mist and embellies.

I added some random heart stickers and chipboard to the digital cut file. The little banners were stamped images that I applied to scraps of patterned paper and hand-cut them to use as embellishments. It makes the hearts stand out much nicer than without.

I added some mini word stickers, butterfly rub-on and some Nuvo dots at the bottom to fill in the layout a bit.

Love this

Happy hump day friends. I just wanted to take a minute to share my very first 12x12 layout that I've created in 8 years. I started scrapbooking in 12x12, but after a few years of scrapping this way, I decided I liked the way the 8 1/2x11 layouts looked better so I went that way and continued scrapbooking that way. Kristine Davidson from Creative Scrappers had a call in December for designers to create a layout using her sketch to possibly be published in her new idea book and of course I was interested, but the layout had to be 12x12. I am not gonna lie. It was very challenging for me. In fact, I created a layout before this one and hated it... so I threw it out and tried again the next day... and this is what I came up with. I think for me, I have to really be inspired my the papers and embellishements in order to really like my project. And I knew I couldn't go wrong by using Pinkfresh Studio and Pretty Little Studio products. The two brands merged together so perfectly on this layout! Wouldn't you agree?

Before I started adding embellishments to my layout, I used a black pen and a ruler to draw a 1/4" border around the layout, then I splashed several droplets of black mists onto the paper. Once it dried, I used my Creative Memories Circle Custom Cutting System to cut several circles from paper, vellum and transparency to frame my photos. Once the circles were cut, I adhered them to the layout then doodled around the circles using a black pen to create a faux stitching appearance. I layered one of the circles using vellum paper to create a softer look. I used several die cuts, stickers, washi tape and chipboard to decorate my layout. I love embellishments... I cannot get enough them.

Best Ever

Happy Monday friends! Today, I am sharing my very first layout using Altenew's Reflection Kit. I loved this kit when it first came out and I've been itching to get it! It is soooo very pretty. I just love the gorgeous patterns, transparency die cuts, wood veneers and stickers. Seriously, it is a one of a kind kit and it's gorgeous.

This is one of my favorite photos of my mom and I so I wanted to scrap a layout of the two of us. The photo really blends well with the embellishments on this layout. My mom snapped this photo of us last summer at the pool. We had such a great time together.

I used the tiny star stamps to stamp my background and I hand-stamped two geometric flowers because they are simply fun!

I used the "best ever" sentiment from the Meadow Flower Stamp Set for my sub title at the bottom of the layout, just below the journaling.

I am strong

Good morning friends! Last weekend, I wanted to scrap, but didn't really have anything in mind so I decided to have fun with a mixed media page. I honestly had no idea where this layout would go. The first thing I did was pull out my blue ink and blender and colored the entire piece of white cardstock blue. Then I used the stamp pad to make some flowers... they aren't perfect, but that's the great thing about mixed media projects; they are messy and fun. And most of the time, you cannot see the imperfections on the layout because it all just blends together so nicely.

I went through my wood mount stamps that I haven't used in awhile to stamp random frames as a fun background and some flowers. Then I grabbed my Honey Bee Acrylic stamps and stamped a few hearts and a birdie near the flowers. I used some Teal Me No Lies Texturez from Shimmerz Paints and a star stencil template to create a few raised stars. The acrylic hashtags are from Little B! I got these from the Clique Kits shop. SOOOO Fun. I used the rub-ons from the February Clique Kit and the transparency words is from another previous kit. I love the "Meh" transparency word from Pinkfresh Studio.

I went through my Story Kits by Ali Edwards and pulled out a few random things to use on my layout such as chipboard words, mini stickers and flair. I've been holding onto the "I am strong" flair for sometime now. I thought it would be perfect for this layout.

I added some little blue jewels here and there to add a bit of sparkle. It's been awhile since I've created a monochromatic layout and I just love how this turned out. I used washi tape at the top and bottom of the layout.

After I had all of my embellishments glued down, I splashed white acrylic paint all over the layout. But before I did this, I covered the photo with a piece of scrap paper since that is the only part of the layout that I did not want to get paint on!

And here it is. I am actually going to frame in and hang it up in my room because I just love it...

Adventure Awaits

Hi everybody. I've been using the heck out of the February Clique Kit. It's so pretty not to. I used a lot of scraps and leftover embellishments for this layout. I really liked the notebook print and the globe from the cut-apart paper so naturally, I found a way to use it. And of course I had to find somewhere to put the cute bubble bee sticker.

I almost passed on the add-ons this month because I thought I had enough embellies, but I caved and bought them because I just can't help myself when it comes to cute little embellishments. I have no will power. This layout was super simple to create. I simply adhered two strips of patterned papers to the cardstock then cut a few cards from the cut-apart papers, added my photos and filled the naked spaces with scraps, stickers and die cuts.

Guest Designer for Jillibean Soup

Hello everyone! I have some exciting news for you. This month, I am Guest Designing for Jillibean Soup. What an honor and pleasure to be working with this wonderful company. I want to thank Jill and Kimber for having me this month on their blog!

This month, I created several layouts using the Hardy Hodgepodge collection. I LOVE the colors and die cuts in this collection. What a beautiful collection. And so versatile.

It's been awhile since I played with my circle templates from Creative Memories. I love how playful this layout looks. Lots of die cuts and stickers on this one. And I am a sucker for Jillibean Soup's tags. If you look really closely, you can see how I randomly added a dot in the center of the stars using a mustard color Nuvo. :)

As soon as I saw the cute Puppy die cut, I knew I wanted to scrapbook my buddy Cooper. How cute is he?! Lucky for me, I had the perfect photo to go with it. And more tags. LOL

I kept this layout pretty simple. I really like how the tags look at the bottom of the photo with the journaling and die cuts.

And for my last layout, I decided to scrap my handsome son. I just love this photo. It's hard to get him to cooperate with me when I pull out the camera, and even though he isn't looking at me, it still turned out nice. At first, I was worried that the plaid would clash with the patterns, but I love the color of this shirt too much to change the photo to black and white. The fun, playful circle digital die cut is from Just Nick Studio's shop. LOVE this cut file. It's my favorite. I used Shimmerz Paint to color the circles to add a little more color... As if the layout needed anymore coloring. LOL

I painted the "Happy" wood veneer with Shimmerz Paint as well. Doesn't it look nice? And of course, I added another tag with hand-journaling.

Happy hump day all! Hope you're having a fabulous week. Today, I am sharing another layout using Pretty Little Studio's "Summer Vibes" collection. I've had this adorable photo for quite some time now and haven't had the opportunity to scrap it. Until just recently, I wanted to play with mixed media so I used an American Crafts triangle stencil  with Shimmerz Paints Dazzlerz in Jelly Bean Green. I love these dimensional pastes. They really make a layout pop. Once the paste was dry, I splashed some paints and spray ink to add more color.

Here is a close up of the triangles with some splashes of paints and spray ink. The green is so vibrant and pretty!

I layered some more flower circles similar to the florals on the Journaling card to make it stand out a bit more.

Pretty Little Studio Summer Vibes Journaling Cards/Pineapple Punch, Die-Cuts/Picnic Tags, Die-Cut/Aloha Words, Cut-Aparts/Summer Labels, Word Flags, Summer Days/Cut-Aparts, Vellum Tape/Festival, Stickers/Flower Crown, Acrylic Shapes/Summer, Other: Dimensional Paste, Paint and Spray Ink/Shimmerz Paints, Black and White Triangle Patterned Paper: Studio Calico, Chipboard Ampersand: American Crafts

February 7, 2017

Good morning everyone. Just recently, I was going through Edward's baby albums and came across this one photo of Edward and I sitting in the sun. We were at a Father's Day party for Pete. His friends surprised him with a party which was fitting since it was his FIRST Father's Day. I miss those days when Edward was just a newborn. He was such an easy baby! He grew up too fast. It's hard to believe he's going to be 7 this February. Do you ever go through your old photos and re-scrap them? I love going back and reliving those moments just for a second.

For this layout, I used Just Nick Studio's Heart to Heart Background Digital Cut file. I decided to cut the image from orange cardstock to make the cut file pop! For the background, I added a variety of washi tape strips. :)

This layout was created using the February Clique Kit! If you haven't seen this kit, check it out because it is BEAUTIFUL. And there are a few add-ons to help enhance those projects this month in the Clique Kit shop! I used the little word stickers from the December Clique Kit. I cannot get enough of these.

I added some stamping, cork triangles, die cuts and stickers at the bottom of the layout with some mist and Nuvo dots to help pull the layout together. Without these elements, the bottom looked too empty. I used Clique Kit's cut file from October for the bottom. I cut the images in half to use as a border.

One of my favorite things to do is outline the layout with a 1/4" border using a ruler and a black pen. I just love the way it looks. See how nice the washi tape looks behind the digital cut file? LOVE it! I need to try this technique again; very soon.

Products Used: Cardstock: Doodlebug Designs, My Mind's Eye, Patterned Paper: Die-cuts: Stickers: Washi: Chipboard: American Crafts, Nuvo: Tonic Studio, Mist: Ranger, Sticker words: Pretty Little Studio (created exclusively for Clique Kits), Other: Stamps, Black Pen and Adhesives.
