A few weeks ago, I dropped Edward off to school then went to Bean Rush Café for some coffee and breakfast before I headed to work. It was nice not having to go into work until 10:30am. I got a chance to catch up on some reading and it was GREAT!

I used the Printables from the February Clique Kit. I love the "I drink the coffee, I do the things....". I can totally relate. LOL. I added the "Lovely" gold chipboard from my stash. It looks so good on this layout, I think. Of course, the scanned copy of this layout doesn't do the layout justice. It's much prettier in person. I used foam squares to add the heart to the center of the black and white journaling card.

I hand-cut a little strip of patterned paper then stapled it to the bottom of the journaling card to help pull the layout together. Without this, the journaling kind of hangs at the bottom.

We have a variety of printables listed for sale in the Clique Kits shop. For just a few bucks, you have enough embellishments to last awhile and the good thing about printables is you never run out! You can just print them and use them again and again.

Hello everyone! Today, I have a pretty layout to share with you using the "Lots of Love" cut file from Just Nick Studio and January Clique Kit! I love this cut file and used it a few different ways on this layout. It's been a long time since I used a large photo on my layout so this month, I challenged myself to do just that...

I first cut the Love  words then used the naked piece of the cut to trace the word love all over the patterned paper at the top half of the layout. I used a Bic 0.7 pen so the lines would be a little darker and more visibly to the eyes.

Then I used Gluedots to add the "love" letters cut from the same cut file to the photo. I used a ruler and a fine tip pen to add faux stitching to the cut file.

Here are some close-ups:

The tags and word banners are printables from the January Clique Kit.

Little Memories

Hi all! Today, I am sharing a layout I created using a sketch by Creative Scrappers. I've been feeling like my layouts are looking the same... And when this happens, I turn to sketches! I love Creative Scrapper's sketches because Kristene Davidson creates the best sketches with awesome designs. Her sketches make it so easy to scrap. Here is the sketch that I used for my layout. For this layout, I used Pretty Little Studio's Marigold collection. It's still one of my favorite collections.

This year, I am going to try to incorporate more journaling on my layouts. I need to get back to telling my stories, rather than just scrapping pretty layouts. I enjoy sharing my stories... I want to be able to look at my layouts down the road and read my precious moments in life. Back in October, we went to visit my sister at college. It was a beautiful Saturday morning; a perfect day for carving pumpkins outside on campus. We had so much fun. :)

I cut several strips of patterned paper and adhered them to the base of the layout. Then I created a photo collage using PicMonkey and printed the photo on 4x6 photo paper with a white border. I hand cut the labels from the Marigold cut-aparts and used Ali Edward's "Little Memories" stamp and American Craft's "what a day" stamp. I also stamped on the tab using Ali Edward's date stamp. My favorite stamp.

Story Kits

I've been scrapping all day and it feels good! Most of the time, I am creating layouts for Pretty Little Studio, Just Nick Studio and Clique Kits and I love it. But sometimes, I like using what I like from my stash. This year, I really want to get back into journaling more on my layouts so I subscribed to Ali Edwards' story kits again. I subscribed for a year and then I took a break for a year because I never used her kits! So far, I have been using them which makes me happy because her kits really help push me to tell my stories!

Today, I scrapbooked three layouts and they all included a good amount of journaling. Here are the two layouts I created using Ali's Numbers and Surprise kit with a few other embellishments from older story kits. For the first layout, I just focused on 38 things about this 38 year old woman. Just random stuff... whatever came to mind, I listed it.

And of course I had to scrapbook a layout about the Women's march in Washington, D.C. and all over the world that happened yesterday! I wish I could have gone!! WOW... Women kick ass.

Mixed Media

Happy Saturday friends! Since I am running low on my February Clique Kits stash, I decided to scrapbook a mixed media layout so I pulled out my American Crafts scraps, leftover chipboard and rub-ons and got to work. Normally, I am NOT a pink person, but my sister Jamie is actually wearing pink feather earrings in this photo so I was inspired to use my new magenta paint from Shimmerz Paints! For the background, I used an old wood mount stamp by Tim Holtz and Altenew's inks in the colors of Ocean Waves, Frosty Pink and Sea Glass. The stars were made from a screen stencil from Studio Calico. LOVE THEM.

I used some other stamps from Glitz Design, Cosmo Cricket and Pinkfresh Studio to decorate the background. This was such a fun layout to make.

The butterflies are rub-ons. LOVE the quality of these rub-ons. I used several between this layout and a few others and the rub-ons did not break and they blended with the cardstock nicely. The sticker words and puffy stickers were leftover from my December Kit.

Hi everyone. I don't know about you, but I love the February Clique Kit. It is chock full of beautiful embellishments. And the patterns and colors in this kit are truly delightful. I love hounds tooth patterned paper. And I especially love that it has blue in it mixed with purple. GORGEOUS.

Obviously, I love butterflies. In fact, I cannot get enough of them. They are so pretty. I might have gone a little overboard with the embellishments on this layout. How can I not when there are so many gorgeous chipboard and stickers to choose from.

The Nice List

Hello everyone. Hope you enjoyed the holidays. We had a wonderful holiday. Edward was so happy on Christmas. He loved all of his gifts. Normally, I do not scrap my Christmas photos. I have such a hard time scrapping Christmas, but Pretty Little Studio's Tinsel Town collection is too cute not to use! I just love it so much. For the background of the layout, I used the 6x8 patterned papers! No trimming needed... just add adhesives to the back of the papers and adhere them to the base of your layout. I tried to use only colors in the photo. The black patterned paper really looks good on this layout. I just love it. Most of the time, I hand-journal my story, but since I had a good amount to write, I decided to type it up in a word document and print it on plain cardstock. That way, I save space on my layout.

I added some vellum tape at the bottom base of the layout with some stickers. Lots of layering on this layout. Love it.

Isn't the Santa die cut adorable?? I think he is the cutest Santa I have ever seen. Rosey cheeks and all.

I added the "Be Merry" cut-apart with some heart stickers and a tab at the top of the photo with a vellum strip and die cut star.

Happy Monday everyone! I have a fun layout to share with you using the Tinsel Town collection. I had these fun photo booth photos from a company dinner party from late November and thought they would make a fun layout using the "naughty" cut apart. This layout is so fun; it totally brings a smile to my face.

I love the die cuts in this collection, especially, the tags! So fun.

I used the Coal Alphas/Numbers to make the photo booth photos pop. I tried to bring more black into the layout from the photo strips. The Cut-Apart label is from the Summer Vibes Collection.

Lots of layering and yummy embellishments on this layout!

Snow much fun!

We got some snow on Saturday. A whole 1"! LOL and by the looks of these pictures of Edward playing outside, you would have thought we got a foot of snow. He wanted to build a snowman and have a snowball fight but this was not that kind of snow... it was like dust.

However, that didn't stop him from trying to make a few snowballs to throw at mommy. Instead he just started slapping the snow on me. lol

And here he comes... again. LOL. This lasted about 15 minutes and then he got cold. Did I forget to mention it was 20 degrees outside? COLD.

I am glad I let him go outside for a few minutes. He had snow much fun!

Hi everyone. I have another layout to share with you. Yes, another "Love" layout. I apologize now. I figured I better get a head's start on creating layouts for my sister using her engagement photos before she starts throwing hints at me. I am surprised she hasn't asked me yet. LOL.

The January Clique Kit is the perfect kit for scrapping engagement photos. For this layout, I used the "Love" cut file from Just Nick's Shop. You can purchase it here! I love scrapping in a grid. It's super easy to do and it's so much fun decorating the squares with bits and pieces of embellishments found in my stash or kit. :)

I stamped the 04/29 on the back of a scrap piece of paper and created my own little banner so that I could use the "2017" flair. That is the date these two little love birds are getting married.

I love the little word label printables that came with the Clique Kits. They make great fillers for just about any project. I can always find a good use for them.

The Story of Today

Happy New Year everybody! What are your goals for this year? This year, I want to focus more on story telling on my layouts. I do this now, but not as much as I'd like. Initially, I did not plan on using a summer collection for this layout, but the Summer Vibes looks so nice with the photo! I used a pencil to lightly trace lines across the journal card then I used a pen to journal. Once I had my journaling in place, I erased the pencil lines and drew lines free-handed. The die cuts and stickers really helped pull this layout together along with the cut aparts.

Here are a few close-ups:

I really love the acrylic shapes in this collection, especially, the little heart. And one of my favorite things to do with cut apart banners is staple them onto the layout. I added the chipboard heart and stamping from my stash.
