ON AN ADVENTURE MIXED MEDIA LAYOUT/PERFECT PAINTS

Good morning, friends! Who's been on a fun adventure lately? I have not... I'm simply reliving my adventures through photos for the time being! I love the heart stencil from Simple Studios and thought it would make a fun background for my travel themed layout. I used four different Polishing Plaster-Organic sugar, Dove's Wing, Gilded Azure, and Jack Frost. This is such a pretty color combination, and it went perfectly with 49 & Market's Everywhere collection.

To begin, I taped down the stencil down on watercolor paper to prevent the stencil from slipping. Next, I applied the Polishing Plaster one-by-one using the lighter colors first, working my way up to the darker colors.
I love that Polishing Plaster doesn't take very long to dry and it doesn't bulk up my layouts. Once completely dry, it looks so pretty and it has a great deal of texture.

Isn't that stencil adorable? I just love it so much. I used washi tape as a fun border to fill in the gap between the 6x8 stencil and the 8 1/2x11 paper. I really like how everything looks together.

As you know...I love layering pretty embellishments together! This cluster of embellishments with the transparent filmstrips make me so happy. I just love it.

I had so much fun creating this layout. What do you think about those layers? Fun, right! What is your favorite Polishing Plaster combo? We'd love to hear in the comments. Thank you so much for visiting today!

FAMILY/PINKFRESH STUDIO

Happy Sunday, friends! I managed to get some scrappy time in this weekend and then I ran out of photo paper! Boo... I print my photos as I need them. Lesson learned... next time order them.

I joined the Pinkfresh Studio's Create and Connect event this weekend! The instructors are so great. I don't scrap along... I watch and learn some tips and apply them to my layouts. I don't like lifting layouts 100% because I like creating my own work, but those ladies are soooo talented!

I never really thought to use the washi tape to create a fun layout... and I love using patterned papers...but if you look closely, I only used journaling cards with lots of washi flowers cut from the tape!

Those gold alphas and enamel dots are so pretty. I just love them. What do you think? Isn't this so lovely?! I had so much fun making it, too. Thanks so much for visiting today!

CRAY CRAY

Hi everyone. Last month, I think I lost my mind. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I agreed to take two boys, eight and nine to 5 Below.... Then we went to grab some frozen yogurt and headed to the movies to see The Grinch. The boys had so much fun though...and that's really all that matters. It was all for the kids, NOT my sanity.

For this layout, I used lots of stickers from Paper House and Bramble Fox's acrylic (cray cray) word sentiment. It was perfect for this layout. LOL

To create the background, I used several stamps and inks and stamped the images onto white cardstock.

Then I painted the bottom portion with teal paint and a silicone brush so the paint would have a nice smooth appearance. I used a green marker to color in the stars to add more color.

Once the paint was completely dry, I added layers of tags, stickers and photos along with a few jewels and buttons. :) Isn't this such a fun layout? I had so much fun playing with this layout. I've always been a fan of Technique Tuesday's stamps! I bought this last month on sale.

The 3D Movie Night themed stickers from Paper House is my favorite. Anytime I spot movie themed stickers I grab them because one of my favorite things to do is going to see a good movie and stopping at the Photo Booth to have our photo taken.

I used foam squares to add the smiley and star onto the acrylic piece.

I fed a piece of string through the white tag and mounted it to the layout using foam squares. I love all of the pretty embellishments on this layout.

My favorite tool these days is my mini stapler...
