ME

Happy Sunday everyone! Here's a layout I created for Clique International for National Scrapbooking Day. The team was challenged to remember why we scrapbook...to cherish our pictures and memories. We were challenged to create a layout using a photo from when we were younger. For this layout, I used the Rainbow Connection Kit. It is so bright and cheery and a lot of  fun to play with. Unfortunately, it's sold out.

I'm not big on transparency sheets, but I really liked the polka dots so I found a way to use it. I cut the sheet down to measure 8 1/2x11 and stapled the transparency onto white cardstock in each corner.

I used a palette knife to smear the yellow paste by American Crafts. This Rainbow Connection add-on kit is still available in the shop! Grab it while you can. Once the paint was completely dry, I used the gel plate from the Gelli Printing Starter Kit. These gel plates are soooooo much fun!! This was my first time using it and I loved it. I applied white acrylic paint directly onto the gel plate and then used the brayer to smooth the paint all over the plate. Then I pressed my transparency sheet onto of the gel plate to add some white blocks all over the yellow paint. I wanted to tone down the yellow a bit. I love the distress look of this layout, but still bright and cheery.

I decided to scrapbook this layout using a grid design. This design was perfect for the 2"x2" photos I wanted to use.

I printed my journaling on regular paper, used a corner rounder along the edges and then tucked it at the bottom, slightly behind the photo and die cut.

Thanks for visiting me today!
