10 POCKET PAGE TIPS TO INSPIRE/A CHERRY ON TOP

Good morning, friends! Last month, I went to a weekend crop with my friends and I finally made the friendship album I have been wanting to make...I've been so busy working on design team projects that it was on the back burner. However, I scrapped for myself all weekend and it felt great! I'm sad though...because this is one of those projects I wish I had filmed! It was so much fun to make! For these pocket pages, I am using 49 & Market's Curiosities in Willow Grovecollection. I'm also using the 6x8 Album to store these gorgeous pages. It's such a beautiful collection with the gold foiling and transparency die cuts. I JUST LOVE IT ALL.

Here are 10 pocket page tricks to apply on your next pocket page album to make them shine!
  1. Use foiled embellishments to add shimmer to your pocket page spread.
  2. Apply rub-ons to photos and journaling cards, and layer them with die cuts for dimension.
  3. Cut transparency die cuts in half to use on a different pocket page spread.
  4. Use metal dies to create interactive pockets with hidden tags.
  5. Mount die cuts to the page using foam squares to add dimension.
  6. Apply tag to 3x4 journaling card and embellish with rub-ons, die cuts and other desired embellishments.
  7. Try sticking with a color scheme across the pockets to keep a cohesive appearance.
  8. Use a Cannon Selphy to print 3x4 photos.
  9. Cut floral die cuts in half and use part of the flower as a border at the bottom of the journaling card with a label.
  10. Have fun, and enjoy the process!

The layers across these pocket pages make my heart happy. I just love all the beautiful embellishments.
My favorite embellishments from the Curiosities in Willow Grove collection are the rub-ons, and foiled embellishments! I couldn't get enough of them. They add so much to the pocket pages and they are so pretty.

As you can see, I used a variety of rub-ons on the photos and journaling cards. Also, I cut a few of the transparency die cuts to use only half of the circle so I could use them on other pages throughout the album. I added a die cut frame to the tag and added the greenery and butterfly along with the sentiment for one of the pockets. Aren't these pocket pages gorgeous?!
I added some patterned paper to the pocket that comes with the album. Next, I added a variety of rub-ons and die cuts. I folded one of the notebook pages in half and glued both sides together to create a fun insert page for the album. Then, I added the transparent die cut and a few rub-ons to fill int he white space.

I hope you found these pages inspiring! I had so much fun working on this album. Check back on the blog on April 16th as I'll be sharing 6x8 pages from this album! I have a variety of pocket pages and 6x8 scrapbook pages to inspire.

SPLASH THE DAY AWAY/PRETTY LITTLE STUDIO

Good morning, friends! Nicole here with a travel notebook spread I created using bits and pieces of the Sunkissed and You are My Sunshine collection. I'm squeezing in my last summer project of the year!
I managed to use up a few scraps leftover from this collection! I think this is the last of it! It's time for me to move on to another collection. Do you ever find yourself using the same collection over and over again? There's nothing wrong with that...do what you love!

I fussy cut the blueberries from a scrap piece of patterned paper to fill in the white space at the bottom of the layout. Next, I cut a little rectangle from a scrap piece of patterned paper, stapled it at the top of the matted photo and added the "this is the life" sticker. These are great ways to stretch your supplies on hand.

I glued the star at the top and cut the excess off at the top of the page. Next, I added another star using foam squares with the word flags.

The large die cut phrases never gets old. I love them so much! I added the part of the star that I cut at the top to the bottom of the layout to fill in the white space and used a label to include a little bit of journaling.

I hope you found these pages inspiring! I'm looking forward to documenting some fall memories with you next month! Thanks so much for visiting today.

LET'S GETAWAY/SIMPLE STORIES

Hello, friends! I'm sharing this fun album I  created for my sister. She just recently took a trip to Hawaii and I'm just jealous... but I enjoyed looking through her beautiful pictures...and making this album for her using Simple Stories' Just Beachy collection.

I had fun making this cover. I overlapped two 6x8 patterned papers, tucked the photo behind the chipboard frame and then added a few chipboard stickers and the decorative brad. I really love these flip books!

This spread is super cute, isn't it? I cut two patterned papers down to mix and match them...and added the Chipboard frame and embellishments. Super simple, but the embellishments are so perfect! I added the pocket page for journaling and used up some really cute die cuts. Isn't this adorable!!

Sometimes, a little goes a long way... you do not need to go crazy with embellishments for every page... The chipboard frames and die cuts along with the 6x8 paper pad makes these albums so easy to make in a SNAP.

I had fun with the cut apart cards... I thought it would make a fun book marker insert... Notice how I used some of the die cuts and decorative brad? FUN! Don't forget to decorate your journaling page, too! They don't need to be original.

I used a few rub-ons for the bottom journaling card to make it pop... and I can't get enough of the Decorative Brads. So fun.

I think this page just screams Hawaii! Notice how I placed the flip-flops die over the "beach" foam sticker!  And the little strip of washi... It's the little things that makes a page POP.

I like using a journaling card behind one of the double chipboard frames along with a photo. It's super fun! Isn't that whale cute! Seriously, this collection has the best embellishments!!

I had fun playing with all the flower die cuts on this spread! I used foam squares to pop them up to add dimension... Isn't this beautiful.

I added a travel notebook page just for fun... can you spot all of the beautiful rub-ons? FUN!

Here's a fun pocket page. Loving the clusters in each pocket!

I cut a 6x8 paper down in half and added strong adhesive tape along the sides and bottom to create a pocket. Next, I punched holes through the tags and added them onto the photos for fun.

I decorated this 6x8 page using a variety of embellishments.

Here are a few more pocket pages. I wanted to add a few journaling spots so my sister can journal about her adventures!

ALWAYS REMEMBER/SIMPLE STORIES

Good morning, friends! Have you seen the Remember collection from Simple Stories. Oh, my goodness...it is absolutely beautiful and I had so much fun creating this album for my sister. Her birthday is in a few days and I plan on gifting this to her. She has a beautiful little family and I enjoy preserving her memories for her since she isn't a scrapbooker.

The color scheme of this beautiful collection caught my eye and I especially love the beautiful flowers, too. It's so lovely.

My sister's pictures worked perfectly for this collection. Their clothing meshed so well together with all the beautiful patterns and embellishments. I like to cut my die cut flowers in half to make them last! They look great across the top of the photo and they help fill in the white space to frame the photo better.

I stuck with a specific design throughout the album. You will notice how I add a journaling card and embellishments to the left-side of the pages and the pictures are on the right-side. I really think it adds so much to the album and overall flow of the pages.

LOVE that camera die cut so much. I embellished it with a decorative brad and a few stickers. I especially love the chipboard cluster of embellishments slightly overlapping the photo. Isn't it beautiful? I used the "cherish" rub-on over the picture with a few enamel dots. I just love it so much.

For the left-side, I layered a few patterned papers together and added the photo strip rub-on and the "LOVE" foam stickers. Isn't this lovely. I just love layering embellishments together. I added lots of layers to the adorable photo on the other side.
The foam stickers are another favorite of mine... I decided to add the "today" foam stickers at the bottom of the photo. Next, I added the decorative brad to the center of the "o" and added a few floral die cuts. Ah, isn't this spread lovely?

I decided to do something different with this page... This was a first for me...I used a strong adhesive to mount down the chipboard frame over a plastic page... I LOVE that it makes this album a little Chunky and it adds so much charm!

Here is another fun spread I created with the journaling cards, die cuts, enamel dots and chipboard butterflies for the decorative brad pack. LOVING all the layers. I punched two holes through the big tag, added another layer of flowers and the butterfly to make a fun insert for the album. The ribbon is from The Stamp Market.

Here is the back of the tag. I used foam squares to pop up the "celebrating you" banner sticker up off the tag for dimension.

I like cutting the cut-apart sheet to use the grid squares as part of the album. they are great for adding a few embellishments to fill in some of the white space.

What do you think? Isn't this lovely? I hope you found this album inspiring! You can purchase the Remember collection at A Cherry on Top! Click here to start shopping through my affiliate link. The price you pay will not be higher...I may receive compensation for the referral.
Thank you for visiting and I hope you have a great day!

HAPPY NEW YEAR FLIPBOOK/SIMPLE STORIES

Hello, friends! Hope your year has been good to you so far. Today, I'm sharing a flip book I created using Simple Stories' Happy New Year Simple Set. We celebrated the New Year with our good friends in the hood and it was so much fun. We rarely go anywhere for New Years. It's much more cheaper and fun to celebrate at a friend's house...and safer.

I cut the cut-apart sheet to use for the cover and then added a few stickers using foam squares to pop them up off the cover.
This is the inside of the cover. I added a few more stickers... super simple! I used a pink flipbook to document my New Year's Eve celebration.
This page came together in a SNAP...,Literally...I just added a few stickers to frame the photo.

I added a cluster of stickers at the bottom of this photo. I really enjoyed making this little album. I can't wait to share it with my friends! Hopefully, I will give you a few ideas that you haven't thought to do with your little albums.
I love this journaling card. I added the confetti stickers to make it pop a little more.
I cut this paper from the cut-apart sheet and added a few stickers.
For this spread, I cut the 3x4 journaling card out and printed a photo at the same size so they can go side-by-side.
Fun with numbers! Aren't these number stickers fun!? I had to find a creative way to use up the leftover numbers and I think it worked!
Here are the ladies! So glad I remembered to ask someone to take this! Often at times, during these events, no-one remembers to take pictures! BUT I REMEMBERED! Never mind the fact that everyone is looking at someone else. I still have a photo and that's all that matters.
I tried to get creative with this photo! There was a little section that was free of champagne and I thought it would be fun to use a metal heart die to punch a heart and add a piece of patterned paper behind it. SUPER CUTE!
More numbers... I cut the papers down and used foam squares to pop the "It's A New Year" sticker up.
I used foam squares to pop up the tag sticker and then added the yellow ribbon and the pink lips!! I mounted it over the kiss from the sticker so it would pop!
I kept this simple, focusing on the picture. I just added a few word stickers and the heart.
These two goofballs... LOVE them dearly.
I couldn't not include my New Year's resolutions... I'm really going to try to follow them this year, I promise.
Here is the last page I literally used up most of everything with the exception of a few sheets of patterned paper. The Happy New Year simple set was just perfect for this little album! Do you have pictures you need to document? Check out the Happy New Year Collection, here. Thanks so much for visiting today.
