HELLO TODAY

Good morning. I can finally share this pretty layout I created for Studio Forty! I created this layout back in September, but had to hold off on sharing it since it was picked up for publication by Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. :)

Studio Forty's So Romantic Collection REALLY caught my eye. It's filled with beautiful pastel patterned papers and embellishments. It's truly beautiful and it's not just for scrapbooking "romance." I used it to create this fun layout of me and my mom.

I used a few journaling cards to create a fun grid-design layout. I love journaling cards and I had fun with them! The journaling card that says "Enjoy every moment" was originally white. I colored in the sentiment using a light blue marker. Then, stamped "Hello Today" with black ink under the pink "hello". Stamps are such a great way of filling in white space.

I cut the chevron from a scrap piece of paper to use as a geometric heart and popped it up using a foam square. I stamped the little speech bubble at the top right-side of the card and colored in the heart using a pink marker.

I used a black pen and a ruler to create the black border around the layout with some faux stitching at the corners.

To complete the layout, I added a few chipboard embellishments, and stickers. I cut out the balloons and flower from a journaling card.  I stamped the camera in the journaling block and colored it in using markers. Notice the black roses...that is a clear sticker! I love how it looks on this layout at the bottom of the journaling card. Super pretty.

What do you think? It's so pretty, isn't it? I added a few strips of patterned paper at the top and bottom of the layout because the layout looked like it was missing something... I think it worked!

For my second project, I created a card using the patterned papers and stickers from the Don't Grow Up Collection. I simply folded the travel notebook paper in half and then cut it down to 3x4. I tore a strip of the sticker strip and added the sticker sentiment. Then I added the sticker dots from the Cozy Time Collection at the bottom and glued down some rhinestones.

I glued the tag and cork heart from my stash inside the card for fun. I plan on adding my note using a color pencil when I decide on who I will give this cute card to!
