CAPTURED/SIMPLE STORIES

Happy Saturday, friends! Not much going on this weekend. I did a little re-organizing in my scrap room and then played a bit! I'm taking a few minutes to share this layout that was just recently published in Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine.

I created this layout using a variety of stamps and metal dies from Taylor Expressions and the paper collection is from Simple Stories' Trail Mix and Noteworthy collection. I just love this design so much. It's full of layers and stamping.
I have so many fun stamps and metal dies from Taylor Expressions that just sit on the shelf...I was determined to use four-five products from my stash... Can you spot them all? :) My Taylor Expression fans will see them.
I stamped the tree using the Through The Woods stamp set and a light pink ink to make it faint so that it would not hide the journaling.
I used the "Always Take The Scenic Route" stamp sentiment from the Happy Camper stamp set. I did my best to line up the sentiment on the line of the tag... that was not easy, but I managed!
That moose is too cute!! When I bought him, I wasn't sure if I would have a use for him, but he was perfect for filling in the white space at the bottom of the layout with the grass I created from the metal die.
What do you think? Isn't this such a fun layout? I just love how it came together. I'll have to challenge myself more often to use my stamps and dies more often...

Thank you so much for visiting today! Hope you're having a wonderful weekend.

YOU/TRINITY STAMPS

Good morning, friends! Nicole here with a pretty Spring layout I created using the Sketchy Florals Stamps and Dies along with the Large Branch Die, Curtain Call Dies and First Bloom 4x6 Stamps and dies. I love mixing and matching stamps and metal dies to create beautiful layouts.
To begin, I stamped the Sketchy Florals stamp set onto white cardstock and colored them in using alcohol markers, being careful not to smear the blank ink. I used a black waterproof ink so that the images did not look blurry once the flowers were colored. After the images were colored, I used the Sketchy Florals Die to cut the flowers out.
I used the Simply Sentiment You stamps and dies to create a fun title directly on the photo to fill in the white space. Isn't the font just lovely? I love it so much.
I used the Large Branch Die as an accent for the flowers. I cut two branches from white cardstock to place on both sides of the cluster of flowers.
I used the Curtain Call Coordinating Dies to create a fun border across the top of the layout. Love how clean and simple this layout is...but also so pretty! What do you think? RAYS FOR DAYS/PERFECT PAINTS

Hello friends! I'm excited to share a fun mixed media page I created using Polishing Plaster through a stencil. I'm about to start my Outer Banks album and wanted to get my mixed media divider page completed! Plus...I was in the mood to just play with mixed media.

This was pretty simple to make and I just love how the waves turned out! It's so pretty... I used foam squares and rub-ons from Simple Stories' Just Beachy collection to embellish the page once the Polishing Plaster was completely dry.

When I'm working with a variety of Polishing Plaster, I start with the lightest color and work my way up to the darker colors. I used the Jack Frost Polishing Plaster for the first layer and then I used the palette knife to spread the MexicanTurquoise all over, being careful to let some of the Jack Frost show through. Next, I added a little bit of the Organic Sugar to lighten up the colors and I absolutely LOVE how this turned out. It's so pretty!!
I waited for the Polishing Plaster to dry before embellishing the page with foam stickers, Pool Twinkle Stardust Rhinestones, and rub-ons.

I hope I inspired you today! Thank you so much for visiting today.

TOGETHER ALBUM/SIMPLE STORIES

Hello, friends! Nicole here with a friendship album I created for my best friend, Mischelle. We have been friends for a little over 25 years. Our friendship has always been so easy, and we mesh so well together. I created many albums for my family and a few friends, but I came to the realization, I never made Mischelle an album. So… I made it, and I just love it.

I decorated the inside of the book with a sheet of 6x8 patterned paper and added a tag, die cuts and the butterfly foam square. I kept it simple.
I love the flow of this two-page spread with all the beautiful cluster of embellishments. Playing with embellishments…creating layers makes my heart happy.
I backed the yellow chipboard frame with patterned paper and mounted it to the striped insert page using foam squares to add dimension and then added the picture and embellishments. I like that it looks kind of like a shadow box.
Notice how I tried to pull colors from the photos to use as the color theme of the page!? My friend, Mischelle always has a different color hair color when I visit, and I LOVE it.
This is one of my favorite pages from this album. I love the soft colors and the beautiful flowers and butterflies.
For those who look forward to my monthly albums… you know I always like to do something fun with the chipboard pages from the SNAP albums! I kept this simple using the rub-ons for the center of the page and the tab.
I adore this page with the cluster of embellishments at the bottom with the bird. Also, I placed the tab sticker at the top and tore some washi tape to go across the top of the photo.
When we are together…I always take a photo. I don’t care if we are wearing makeup or not because one day… We will both look back at these photos and wonder where did the time go? Are you ready to make a friendship album, yet?

I hope I inspired you today with my colorful, friendship album. I plan on giving this album to my friend when I visit her in May. Thank you so much for visiting today.

LET'S GETAWAY/SIMPLE STORIES

Hello, friends! I'm sharing this fun album I  created for my sister. She just recently took a trip to Hawaii and I'm just jealous... but I enjoyed looking through her beautiful pictures...and making this album for her using Simple Stories' Just Beachy collection.

I had fun making this cover. I overlapped two 6x8 patterned papers, tucked the photo behind the chipboard frame and then added a few chipboard stickers and the decorative brad. I really love these flip books!

This spread is super cute, isn't it? I cut two patterned papers down to mix and match them...and added the Chipboard frame and embellishments. Super simple, but the embellishments are so perfect! I added the pocket page for journaling and used up some really cute die cuts. Isn't this adorable!!

Sometimes, a little goes a long way... you do not need to go crazy with embellishments for every page... The chipboard frames and die cuts along with the 6x8 paper pad makes these albums so easy to make in a SNAP.

I had fun with the cut apart cards... I thought it would make a fun book marker insert... Notice how I used some of the die cuts and decorative brad? FUN! Don't forget to decorate your journaling page, too! They don't need to be original.

I used a few rub-ons for the bottom journaling card to make it pop... and I can't get enough of the Decorative Brads. So fun.

I think this page just screams Hawaii! Notice how I placed the flip-flops die over the "beach" foam sticker!  And the little strip of washi... It's the little things that makes a page POP.

I like using a journaling card behind one of the double chipboard frames along with a photo. It's super fun! Isn't that whale cute! Seriously, this collection has the best embellishments!!

I had fun playing with all the flower die cuts on this spread! I used foam squares to pop them up to add dimension... Isn't this beautiful.

I added a travel notebook page just for fun... can you spot all of the beautiful rub-ons? FUN!

Here's a fun pocket page. Loving the clusters in each pocket!

I cut a 6x8 paper down in half and added strong adhesive tape along the sides and bottom to create a pocket. Next, I punched holes through the tags and added them onto the photos for fun.

I decorated this 6x8 page using a variety of embellishments.

Here are a few more pocket pages. I wanted to add a few journaling spots so my sister can journal about her adventures!

I hope I inspired you today! Are you ready to document your adventures with this beautiful collection? You can purchase the Just Beachy collection at A Cherry on Top! LET THE SUN SHINE/SIMPLE STORIES

Hello, friends! Nicole here with two pocket pages I created using Simple Stories' Fresh Air collection. This collection is so fresh, I love it. It just screams Spring and I'm here for it!

I just recently stumbled across this photo of me and my grandmother planting flowers from my Poppy's garden when my husband and I bought our house over 24 years ago! It brought back fond memories!
I added the floral rub-ons onto a journaling card and then popped the sentiment up using foam squares.

I used a ruler and black pen to add my journaling to the 4x6 journaling card and then added the die cuts to frame the card.

I especially love the little snail! Isn't he adorable?
I had fun with the little bumble bee stickers, too. This spread was super fun to make!
For my second spread, I decided to use a recent photo of my grandmother with my sister... I paired the picture with a pretty flower picture I recently took during one of my walks. Don't be afraid to mix and match pictures in your album. They do not all need to be from the same event, it's your album...just play and have fun!

I cut the 4x6 flower pictures to measure 3x4 and then added the sun rub-on to the center...isn't he fun? Next, I added the word stickers and another snail because he's too cute not to use. I added a sticker brad to the shell to give it dimension. Super fun!

I popped the chipboard embellishments up using foam squares onto cardstock and then added the sticker sentiment below the basket.

Here, you'll see more rub-ons and I stapled the tiny heart die cut onto the photo to pull the cluster of embellishments together.

I used the "TODAY" rub-on sentiment across the bottom of the photo and added a few rub-on flowers, too.

Aren't these spreads cute? I really enjoy playing in my SNAP albums! They make creating super simple and fun! Thank you for visiting today! Hope you have a great week.
