To begin, I used a paint brush to paint the tags using a thin layer of the Beehive Shimmering Matte Acryics. I just wanted to add a little shimmer to the background. No need to prep the tags with gesso. I'm going to mount two tags back to back to make them thicker once the paint is dry.
I let the paint dry for about 20 minutes. Next, I taped the tags down to the board to prevent them from slipping. After that, I taped down the Snow Flurries stencil over the tags. Now the fun part...Playing with Polishing Plaster...my favorite medium!I chose the Mexican Turquoise and Jack Frost Polishing Plaster to create the snowflakes. I used a palette knife to spread the Mexican Turquoise through the stencil first.I used a plastic scraping tool to remove the excess Polishing Plaster from the surface and then I put that back into the jar for future use! After that, I grabbed a palette knife and the Jack Frost Polishing Plaster and dabbed it all over the Mexican Turquoise. I love how pretty these two colors look together...Just wait...
Isn't this beautiful? I especially love the Beehive Shimmering Matte Acrylic for the base. It's just perfect. And the snowflakes...the texture is wonderful.
I used a variety of die cuts and embellishments from Simple Stories' Snow Pine Lodge collection to embellish the tags. I love this collection so much. It's so pretty with the touch of pink! The Blue sky Twinkle gems are from Trinity Stamps. I love that they are clear with a touch of blue sparkle!
