MIXED MEDIA ART JOURNAL SPREAD

Hello everyone. Nicole here! Today I have a fun art journal spread to share with you. I created this spread one morning...I was feeling like I was in a funk with everything going on in the world. I just felt sad and unmotivated... I wanted to scrapbook something, but then I didn't...so I grabbed some paint and a chipboard art journal page and just let my hands do the work. I had no idea where I was going with this page...I just selected colors that made my heart feel lighter.

We have a few Art Journals in the shop available for purchase and Gia has marked down the price so if you're thinking about giving art journaling a try, grab it now! They are beautiful and they look gorgeous on my shelf. Click here to purchase yours today! I used the Vintage Vibe Ephemera Pack from the shop too! I fell in love with the butterfly napkin... I carefully cut the butterflies out and adhered them to the art journal spread using matte gel.

To begin, I simply colored the entire page with different colors of acrylic paint. WE have a variety of beautiful colors in the shop. Check them out
here. Once the paint was completely dry, I covered some of the colors using white acrylic paint to tone it down some. Then I used Metallic Silver Modeling Paste and a stencil to add the birds and flowers. I love the metallic modeling paste. It is beautiful!!

Once the modeling paste was completely dry, I added the flowers and writing using rubber stamps by Paper Artsy and then I splashed some Raven Coloration Spray here and there.

To complete the spread, I added some cork heart embellishments, gems and a button. I am very please with how this turned out and it definitely brightened my mood! Thanks for stopping by today! I hope I inspired you to try art journaling!

THANKFUL FOR YOU

Hello! Are you looking for a fun challenge? Check out Scrapbook the Boys' July Mood Board. I must warn you... it requires you to use pink on a boy layout. You can do it... I promise you! You've got this and if you don't believe me... look at this layout I created. It totally feels right... even with all the pink and flowers! It's a spring layout so it totally works.

If you feel the need... you can still add some blue or other colors.

To create this layout, I used several acrylic paints from Bad Girls Couture and a few stencils from The Crafter's Workshop to create a fun mixed media background. And to mix it up a bit, I kept the layout at 12"x12"! I rarely scrapbook in this size, but I love the larger space for this photo with all the flowers and embellishments. I used Simple Stories' Simple Vintage Garden District Collection to create this layout.

The chipboard embellishments in this collection is gorgeous! I just love this collection so much. I've created a few layouts using this beautiful collection and I still have a good bit of it left.

I tucked some coral thread at the bottom of the photo to give the layout some depth. It adds a little home-spun look that I just love.

I used TCW's Heart background stencil and the dragon fly stencil with a gel plate along with lots of paint to create a fun background for the layout.

Come join in on this month's challenge. Click here to see additional ideas from the team! It'll be fun, I promise! :)

SPRING WALKS

Good morning everyone. I have a very colorful layout to share with you! I used the floral print patterned paper from AB Studio that was available in the Clique International shop. Totally love this company. The papers are so whimsical and fun.

To begin, I sprayed white cardstock with a variety of Coloration Sprays until I was satisfied with the background. Then I fussy cut the flowers from the patterned paper.

Isn't this paper so pretty? I just love it! I used embellishments from my stash to embellish the layout. I colored a few of the die cut pieces using the sprays so everything would blend together nicely.

I added a little journaling to the side of the circle to fill in the white space and used foam squares to pop up the flowers a bit. The gems are from Trinity Stamp!

I used the vellum stickers from Clique International's Rainbow Connection Kit for my title. It looks perfect!

What do you think? It is totally fun, isn't it. I love how this turned out. Thanks so much for visiting today!
